Melanie Crowder on AUDACITY and Clara Lemlich

YOU GUYS! I just read the most awesome, powerful book — Audacity by Melanie Crowder. It’s one of those books that I want to hand out to people during Women’s History Month and pretty much throughout the year. I got lucky enough to be able to ask Melanie to write a guest post exclusively for Good Books […]

Navigating Early by Clare Vanderpool | Audiobook Review

Navigating Early by Clare Vanderpool appealed to me because I was in need of an audiobook that I figured would be short, good, and something that I actually care about listening to.

The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors | Book Review

By all intents and purposes, The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors should be my next favorite book, based on the cover and summary. The Inventor’s Secret by Andrea Cremer | Audiobook Review

Cremer’s latest series reimagines the world so that the Americans lost the Revolutionary War. In The Inventor’s Secret, the British have this mega-empire which is not really much different from the age of Imperialism.

Salt & Storm by Kendall Kulper | Book Review

And well, the heart wants what the heart wants and for me that was to just tear into Salt & Storm. Oh my goodness, I LOVED THIS BOOK even though it made me really sad.

Jackaby by William Ritter | Book Review

I feel like I have been anticipating reading Jackaby by William Ritter for like FOREVER. No, but seriously, it was a relatively decent book. Jackaby is described as Sherlock meets Dr. Who. As I’ve watched around fifteen minutes of Dr. Who, have only seen The Great Mouse Detective, I can’t quite testify to the accuracy of that comparison. What I can, however, testify to is the merits and drawbacks that I perceived while reading this book. On the whole, I liked Jackaby, yet it did not entirely gel with me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good book that’s worth recommending.
