Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton | Audiobook Review

Why Did I Listen To This Book? I listened to Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton because the narrator, Katharine McEwan narrated one of my favorite audiobooks last year – A Mad Wicked Folly and so I figured because I liked the narrator this would be a good listen. Also? The synopsis sounds so cool — people wielding […]

Reality Boy by AS King | Book Review

One thing that I really love about A.S. King’s books are that they make me think. They go to dark places sometimes and really force you to look beyond the surface and examine the deeper themes. On it’s surface, Reality Boy seems like the kind of book I would hate, given how much of the book […]

The Merciless by Danielle Vega | Book Review

I think I keep trying to make fetch happen with certain horror books, when clearly they just are not my thing. I began reading The Merciless by Danielle Vega based on the pink cover and the horror theme. I thought a book about Mean Girls meets The Exorcist sounded like it would be really awesome. Open Road Summer by Emery Lord | Book Review

I am late to the party when it comes to Emery Lord’s debut, Open Road Summer. I think everyone was going wild for this book a few months ago and I don’t even remember what I was doing, but unfortunately it was not reading this book. YOU GUYS! Why did I wait so long to read […]

We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach | Book Review

To be completely frank with you, as I read Wallach’s debut, I could not help but compare the book with Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts, a novel with a similar premise that came out in 2013, only set on an island instead of Seattle and with three teenage point of views instead of four. Fortunately, We All Looked Up is better than Tumble & Fall but not by much.

The Bodies We Wear by Jeyn Roberts | Book Review

I am left a bit conflicted on how I should feel. You know how some books are kind of really strange and you read them and you are like, what even is going on here, but you keep reading in hopes of understanding, and THEN you do end up understanding and you are like YES THIS ENDING ROCKS and you write the longest run on sentence ever? Well, that happened to me while reading The Bodies We Wear. I am going to warn you right now that this book is really strange and some parts do feel like a bit of a trudge to get through. I spent much of the book confused, however, I ended up pretty satisfied when everything came together and I was no longer in the dark.
