Essentially, I Am The Weapon is about this kid who goes by Benjamin for the majority of Zadoff’s book. His parents were killed by his friend Mike when he was a teenager. Then Benjamin was recruited to essentially be an assassin. He receives training and is honed into the best possible weapon. From there, he is given coded assignments, gets close to a mark – usually another kid at the different schools he is sent to – and then kills their parent. This time, Benjamin is assigned to the mayor of New York City’s daughter – Sam. He ends up being really interested in Sam and also coming to like the mayor. So, he decides he wants out of the assassin business. Will he get out? That remains to be seen.

Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher | Book Review

I do not read enough international young adult books, I swear. Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher is a British young adult contemporary book about a girl named Zoe. It is a book that I consumed over a few weeks, slowly. Not because it is slow paced or boring, but because it was my background book. This […]
Waistcoats & Weaponry by Gail Carriger | Book Review

I feel as though I have read Gail Carriger’s Finishing School series in a whirlwind and am a bit bereft that I do not have the last book in the series - Manners & Mutiny to read upon finishing Waistcoats & Weaponry. I’ll be honest and tell you all that I feel each book gets successively better, so […]
Curtsies & Conspiracies by Gail Carriger | Book Review

Binge reading a series is pretty much my favorite. Within the span of about a week or so, I consumed Gail Carriger’s Finishing School series. The second book, Curtsies & Conspiracies is just as delightful as the first book - Etiquette & Espionage. This is a series about a capable young woman named Sophronia who has been covertly recruited […]
Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger | Book Review

I often join readathons and then do not do anything to really promote that I am taking part except maybe declaring my intent on twitter. I took part in the Slay That Series Readathon which took place during the end of September and the beginning of October. The point of this readathon was to finish […]
The Princess And The Pony by Kate Beaton | Book Review

Why Did I Read This Book? So, I got Kate Beaton’s The Princess And The Pony in the mail unexpectedly. It just arrived with no fanfare or explanation or request or anything. I am not typically a picture book reader, however, pretty much everyone in my life is on the having babies track at the moment […]
