Book Review: Darkness Becomes Her by Kelly Keaton

Judging by the cover of Darkness Becomes Her by Kelly Keaton you would think it was strictly a vampire story, however, you would be wrong. Darkness Becomes Her by Kelly Keaton blends paranormal, Greek mythology, dystopia, and romance into a neat little package. Ari Selkirk has teal colored eyes and silver hair, so she’s weird looking. Book Review: 10 Miles Past Normal by Frances O’Roark Dowell

Normal is overrated. No, really it is. However, not a whole lot of us really see that in high school. I remember desperately wanting to fit in while in high school and to be normal. But, well, normal girls don’t emerge from the library every day with a stack of books. Normal girls talk about […]

Book Review: Between Here And Forever by Elizabeth Scott

I learned several important things after reading Between Here And Forever by Elizabeth Scott. Number 1) A coma and a persistent vegetative state are not the same thing. Number 2) I am the master at figuring out ‘secrets’ by the 20th page. Number 3) I want to read more Elizabeth Scott, but not for the reasons you might think.

Book Review: Carmen by Walter Dean Myers

Then you may get really disappointed when other versions don’t quite live up to your expectations. Unfortunately, Carmen by Walter Dean Myers did not live up to my expectations. […]

Book Review: Divergent by Veronica Roth

I have a confession to make. I thought Divergent by Veronica Roth was going to be terrible because of the cover. Don’t hate me, but I think the cover is a bit cheesy looking. Then everyone started reading it and tweeting about how great it was and I learned an important lesson. YA’LL THIS IS A BOOK YOU SHOULD NOT JUDGE BY THE COVER!!! Is that in your face enough? Seriously, I am in LOVE with Divergent. Okay, so you know how some long books take like forever to read, unless they contain Harry Potter magic inside? Well, I’m pretty sure there is something magical inside Divergent because I read this almost 500 page book in two days. It would have been one day, but work frowns on me coming in on zero sleep.

Book Review: Abandon by Meg Cabot

So, Pierce Oliveria is a bit of a nut job. Only, she’s actually not. You see, she died once, but then came back after 20 minutes or so. While dead, she hooked up with this dude, John Haden who is the Isla Huesos (an island in Florida) version of Hades, God of the Underworld. Anyways, […]
