Christmas In Harmony Harbor by Debbie Mason is apparently the final book in her Harmony Harbor series, but the actual first book of the series that I’ve read. I went into this book without any character situation context at all and ended up really enjoying my time with it. If you’re looking for a sweet holiday themed romance with a few quirky characters and a supernatural element, Christmas In Harmony Harbor has got you covered.
Mason’s Christmas In Harmony Harbor follows Evangeline “Evie” Christmas who is running a business – Holiday House which is a year round holiday themed store. Unfortunately for Evie, her business is about to get bulldozed to make room for a parking lot for a new set of offices coming in for a big corporation. Heading up this project to bulldoze her store is Caine, the Irish CEO. Evie is desperate to save Holiday House. So, she makes a bet with Caine. He must fulfill three wishes from the Angel Tree.
Of course, Angel Tree wishes aren’t a wish list of gifts. Instead, they’re these tasks that the wish granter must fulfill. They have a way of bringing true meaning to the holiday to both the receiver and the giver. Evie has a strategy in mind. As it turns out, she did not plan on her attraction to Caine. Nor did she plan on Caine’s grandmother being kind of a witch bent on revenge against a local family in Harmony Harbor. Lucky for Evie, there’s a ghost who is watching out for them.
Yes, there are parts that are a little strange, like the ghosts element. However, it was also something unique added to this story. I loved Evie’s character and her persistence. Also, I really enjoyed unraveling the layers to Caine’s character. The book ends in the most perfect way too!
On A Scale of One To Buddy The Elf, How Much Christmas Spirit Does Christmas In Harmony Harbor Have?
Overall, Christmas In Harmony Harbor scores pretty high on the Buddy The Elf scale. This book really explores having a change of heart and the meaning of the season. It is a story about helping others, community, and hearing people out. There’s a love story, sure. However, it also covers moving past and healing from traumas and opening up to something great. And the end, yes, is lovely. Definitely pick this book up, even if you haven’t read anything from Harmony Harbor.
