Why Did I Listen To Her Other Secret by HelenKay Dimon?

It is absolutely the season of me listening to romance books that are on my TBR cart via Hoopla. Seriously, talk about making it nice and easy to read these books and then unhaul them to make space for new books. Her Other Secret by HelenKay Dimon is the second HelenKay Dimon book I’ve read, but certainly won’t be the last. This book is a romantic suspense and was a not bad addition to my marathon of romance audiobooks.

What’s The Story Here?

Her Other Secret kicks off HelenKay Dimon’s Whitaker Island series. It is a romantic suspense about two people who happen to be hiding something. Tessa Jenkins has run away to Whitaker Island which she feels is a saving grace. She’s run from a scandal and is recalibrating. She hasn’t exactly made friends with local law enforcement which is really to her detriment when she notices a yacht moored across from where she is and legit, there’s enough space for that yacht to be moored elsewhere. So, she turns to local island handyman Hansen Rye for help. As it turns out, the stranger in the yacht is someone that Hansen knows. To complicate matters even more, that stranger ends up murdered and Hansen ends up under suspicion.

What Did I Think Of Her Other Secret?

I am pretty sure I have the next book in the series on my shelf and I will definitely be picking it up and giving it a read. Overall, I thought Her Other Secret was pretty decent. Was it super memorable? Lol, no it was not. However, this book was a distraction from ordinary life which I appreciate. Also, I am a bit biased on what is memorable and what is not because I listened to this during a very sleep deprived time in my life.

How’s The Narration?

Xe Sands is the narrator of Dimon’s Her Other Secret. It is 8 hours and 31 minutes unabridged and actually super easy to listen to slightly sped up. Xe Sands is an absolute professional when it comes to audiobook narration and this book is no different. I definitely think if you’re interested, you should go for the audiobook version.
