Stacking The Shelves (58)

Another week, another haul. This week actually was really, really busy for me. I am kind of glad it’s over, to be honest. Although, I have a feeling that this upcoming week will be just as busy. ALSO! I am so super close to finishing The Queen Of The Tearling which is a major feat considering how long that thing is.

For Review:

Landline by Rainbow Rowell (Amazon Vine) – AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I am so excited to read this but I made a commitment to my pre-BEA pile so this is my incentive to finish reading things from that pile.

Everything Leads To You by Nina LaCour (Unsolicited) – Duplicate copy, lol so I guess I kind of begged for nothing, but thanks anyways Jen @ Jenuine Cupcakes!

Firebug by Lish McBride (Requested Review Copy) – HECK YES, I love Lish McBride’s books. If you haven’t read them, you are missing out on some hilarity.

The Taking by Kimberly Derting (Unsolicited) – I am on the fence regarding this author, I love her Body Finder books, but was not at all a fan of The Pledge. We shall see.

Talker 25 by Joshua McCune (Unsolicited) – Damn, that’s one fine cover. Also, dragons are my favorite.

From Edelweiss/Netgalley:

A Time To Dance by Padma Venkatraman – I am almost done with this book, I love it. It’s perfect for #DiversifyYourShelves

Forbidden by Kimberley Griffiths Little – I picked this because of the cover, let’s be real here. Also, it looks historical and I am all about the historical fiction.

Even In Paradise by Chelsey Philpot – This looks so good and I love the cover, of course.

The Turtle Of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye – Hey this is a multicultural book and you know #DiversifyYourShelves. Also, this is set in the Middle East and there’s art inside. It sounds really good.

Get Even by Gretchen McNeil – Heck yes for revenge stories!

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch – Basically you just need to read the summary to know that this book is kind of my thing.

Blackbird by Anna Carey – This one looks awesome.

Stray by Elissa Sussman – Oh that cover. Also, the comparison to that one book by Heather Dixon.

Beware The Wild by Natalie C. Parker – I am so into Southern Gothic books, I cannot even with how much I like them!

Exquisite Captive by Heather Demetrios – OH MY GOD THAT COVER YES PLEASE.

Kiss Kill Vanish by Jessica Martinez – Because I LOVED Virtuosity and so now I want to read this too.

Purchased:

Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer – Because it was cheap and I am collecting her books on my Kindle.

  1. Great haul this week! I got Firebug too. I enjoyed The Taking though I had some fears going in. Talker 25 does sound great. I have been avoiding Edelweiss/NetGalley because I binged and had 21 May review books on my stack. I am almost finished with them and can go browsing again. I love Georgette Heyer’s books. Sprig Muslin was cute but my favorites are These Old Shade and Devil’s Cub. Come see what I got this week at Inside of a Dog and Ms. Martin Teaches Media. Happy reading!

  2. you did very well this week April. I see a few things that look really good. Landline is one of those books that I’m looking forward to. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

  3. I love verse books! Happy reading with all your new shinies!

  4. So many of those review titles look so GREAT, but I need to kind of hang back from the review sites for a while but MAN some look so great.

  5. So many books that I can’t wait to read! I’m super excited for Blackbird and Even in Paradise! Talker 25 looks awesome, too. I can’t resist dragons! Amazing haul! I hope you enjoy all the books! 🙂

  6. I really liked Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, too! I still need to read the second book.

I haven’t read any of Georgette Heyer books either, but i have a number of ebooks, too. I’ve heard they are good for fans of Jane Austen – and who isn’t a fan of Jane Austen 🙂

  7. WOW Great haul! I hope you enjoy your books!

  9. Great haul, April! So many that I’m looking forward to! Stray, Beware the Wild, Blackbird, Everything Leads to You…just to name a few! Good luck with The Taking—it’s been getting such mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it!

  10. I was contemplating whether to request Landline but then I have so many review copies to get to that I decided I’d just wait and buy a finished copy when it comes out. Firebug looks interesting! I have heard great things about Lish but haven’t read any of her stuff yet.

    Great Haul!

  11. I was so excited when I saw Landline on Vine! I did enjoy The Pledge, but not more than The Body Finder series. There were seriously so many amazing books on Edelweiss/Netgalley this week or so. Have a fantastic time reading!!! Happy Reading!

  12. First things first: I love your lip color. It’s so pretty on you!

As for your haul, I’m excited to see what you think of Landline (which I’m definitely excited to read!). I always enjoy seeing what you get because sometimes, it introduces me to new titles I’d not heard of before!

    Happy reading 🙂
