Stacking The Shelves (57)

What a great weekend! Friends, it was the Dewey 24 Hour Readathon this weekend and I read my little heart out. Seriously, I read from 8 a.m. yesterday until 4:45 a.m. this morning. I finished 7 books during the readathon, finished one audiobook afterward, today, and once this is all posted and done, I plan on finishing up Don’t Call Me Baby by Gwendolyn Heasley. Also, despite all of the junk food I have consumed, I am still hovering close to my target weight, so yay? AND! On Friday I did my first outdoor run since moving here and almost died of exhaustion and strenuous activity. Seriously, outside should come with a warning: MUCH HARDER THAN THE TREADMILL, ALSO YOU MIGHT HAVE TO INTERACT WITH THE PUBLIC.

Ah, the travails of being me. But, you all are here for the books and I am here to deliver on this haul.

For Review:

Curses And Smoke by Vicky Alvear Schecter (Blog Tour) – I am on a blog tour for this historical fiction book hosted by Passages To The Past and I am so excited to read this. I loved Schecter’s Cleopatra’s Moon and this is about Pompeii.
After The End by Amy Plum (Unsolicited) – Yay finished copy! I’ve already read this, check out my review here.
Mortal Danger by Ann Aguirre (Requested Review Copy) – That cover, you know why I wanted to read this. Also I am partial to books with mortal in the title.
Poisoned Apples by Christine Heppermann (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I saw this on EW, but resisted downloading it and then it showed up and you guys it is so slim and tiny. Yay poems!
Nash by Jay Crownover (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Y’all gonna make lose my head up in here, up in here aka I AM SO EXCITED.
Sleep No More by Aprilynne Pike (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Brandon Sanderson blurb? SOLD!
The Immortal Crown by Richelle Mead (Accepted Review Copy) – I am sincerely hoping I like this more than Gameboard Of The Gods.
Half A King by Joe Abercrombie (Amazon Vine) – THAT COVER. Also, the only book offered that wasn’t in a series, plus I am pretty sure this is supposed to be YA and I’ve been meaning to read Abercrombie for awhile now.

  1. i read most of Sleep No More and it’s actually really fun. Though I tend to be in the minority with Pike’s novels, since I also thought Life After Theft was delightful and everyone basically hated that one. But yeah, I forgot what I pitched Sleep No More as but it was something along the lines of Scream meets Inception? Not sure about the Inception part 100% and now it’s bothering me because I need to know what I pitched it as.

  2. Congrats on completing 7 books for the RaT. That’s AWESOME!! 🙂

  3. So I think we all know how much I detest the first two covers of the Marked Men series and it KILLS me because I so badly WANT them in print but I just can’t buy re-buy them in paperback because of the covers. That cover of Rome is hotachacha but NASH! Holy shit, I cannot stop staring at that guy! I cannot WAIT to read the book, I just pre-ordered it! 🙂
