It’s love. Trust me.

After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary—schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.

Kel, an Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is on vacay, but Ivy’s a spicy reason to give his short-term plans a second thought. Best of all, she’s a tonic for his untrusting heart, burned once and still in repair. But when Ivy’s past intrudes on a perfect romance, Kel fears that everything she’s told him has been a perfect lie. Now, if only Ivy’s willing to share, Kel will fight for a true love story.

What Did I Think Of Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis?

Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis was a fun, short listen which is definitely good for ramping up into Christmas. This book is part of the Heartbreaker Bay series which if we’re being completely honest with each other, I haven’t read. However, as you all know from visiting this site, I love Christmas. And that love of Christmas won’t stop me from picking up books from the middle of a series. After all, last year I completely binge read books from Haven Point after starting in the middle.

So as it turns out, having no experience with the Heartbreaker Bay books didn’t really hold me back in any way as I listened to Wrapped Up In You. This book is about Ivy who runs a taco truck in San Francisco and doesn’t let anyone get close to her. It’s also about Kel, a sheriff from out of town who is out on leave after experiencing an injury. There are some definite sparks between Ivy and Kel but also a lot of walls up between the two as well. Of course, the best parts are when the two learn to trust each other and the HEA.

For the most part, I found this to be a pleasant reading experience. I mean, I thought Ivy was likable. The kickboxing morning class was excellent to read about and made me want to also find something like that to do before work. And then the bits with Kel, his new niece, his sister, and his mother were sweet as well. This isn’t my favorite of all the holiday books I’ve read, but I have nothing negative to say about this book.

How’s The Narration?

I borrowed an audiobook of Wrapped Up In You via Hoopla. It’s narrated by Erin Mallon and is 7 hours and 12 minutes long. I listened to this book at a sped up rate – varying from 2x speed to 1.25x speed, depending on my mood and attention span. It took about two days to listen to this. Mallon’s narration is easy on the ears, not annoying but also not anything super remarkable.

Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis was a fun, short listen which is definitely good for ramping up into Christmas.

On A Scale Of One To Buddy The Elf, How Much Christmas Spirit Does This Book Have?

Okay, so Wrapped Up In You isn’t quite at the level I need for Christmas spirit. It talks about the stuff leading up, like Thanksgiving which is great and all. However, no real super huge Christmas moments except one. That’s why I think this is a great audiobook to pick up early in the season rather than later. It will ease you into a holiday mood, but is not quite there on the Buddy The Elf scale just yet.
