Waiting On Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine.
YOU GUYS! Who here does not love Julie Berry? Actually maybe you haven’t read her yet, but that’s okay, get ready. You have a whole backlist of awesome ahead of you. Anyways, I just recently saw that she has a new book coming out April 2016 and so I have decided I am waiting on The Passion Of Dolssa this week.
Why Am I Waiting On The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry?
1. That cover tho. I mean, I think every single Waiting on Wednesday says something to this effect, but you guys, to me I look at the cover and think historical, dark, smoke, something scandalous is probably going to happen, like patriarchy fighting, idk. I am so pumped up though.
2. Julie Berry writes some great heroines – whether it is delightful fiction about Scandalous Sisters who hang out at Prickwillow Hollow or a girl who can’t talk and speak all the truth that’s in her. I love Berry’s characterization and I am sure she will continue this element in The Passion of Dolssa.
3. MEDIEVAL FRANCE. Bro, two words and I am sold. OH WAIT WAIT did I forget the phrase SECRET LOVER and based on the summary I think it is a lady lover oh la la.
HERE IS THE OFFICIAL GOODREADS SUMMARY:
I must write this account, and when I have finished, I will burn it.
Buried deep within the archives of a convent in medieval France is an untold story of love, loss, and wonder and the two girls at the heart of it all.
Dolssa is an upper-crust city girl with a secret lover and an uncanny gift. Branded a heretic, she’s on the run from the friar who condemned her mother to death by fire, and wants Dolssa executed, too.
Botille is a matchmaker and a tavern-keeper, struggling to keep herself and her sisters on the right side of the law in their seaside town of Bajas.
When their lives collide by a dark riverside, Botille rescues a dying Dolssa and conceals her in the tavern, where an unlikely friendship blooms. Aided by her sisters and Symo, her surly but loyal neighbor, Botille nurses Dolssa back to health and hides her from her pursuers. But all of Botille’s tricks, tales, and cleverness can’t protect them forever, and when the full wrath of the Church bears down upon Bajas, Dolssa’s passion and Botille’s good intentions could destroy the entire village.
From the author of the award-winning All the Truth That’s in Me comes a spellbinding thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page and make you wonder if miracles really are possible.
The Passion Of Dolssa releases on April 12, 2016.

I LOVE Julie Berry! And I am most definitely excited for this one.
SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!
Wow that cover is very different. I really really like it. I read Julie Berry’s All You Left (?) this past winter and liked it okay but I’d be curious to read this one. Great pick!
All The Truth That’s In Me — and yessss that cover is superb!
Thanks 🙂
