Good Books And Good Wine Is Heading To #BEA14

Hello reader friends! I am so pleased to announce that the entire Good Books And Good Wine team is going to Book Expo America 2014 in New York City! Don’t know the whole team yet? Well you will after this post!

Reading Nash

Chances are if you’re reading this blog, you know me. I’m April, I am the face of Good Books And Good Wine as well as the founder and owner of this blog, editor in chief if you will.

You will probably see me creepily hanging around the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt booth waiting for them to drop Mortal Heart. That is literally the number one book I want. Other than that, you can catch me in line for Jandy Nelson’s I’ll Give You The Sun. My BEA plans include figuring out how to sneak a flask in and wandering the floor with resting bitch face. It’s me, not you.

Three Things I Have Done To Prepare For BEA:

  • This is my fifth BEA, so survive previous BEAs, including the one where this really awesome girl that I know was bit by someone over an ARC.
  • TWEET TWEET TWEET. Basically, I have been tweeting so much excitement and trying to be outgoing. I hope that carries over.
  • Purchasing makeup, seriously nothing makes me feel more confident and ready to conquer the world than some pretty eye shadow and bright lipstick.

TeddyandI

This is Allisonshe’s the girl reading, not the dog. The dog’s name is Teddy and he is owned by a girl called Moose. Allison has been blogging here at Good Books And Good Wine for about three years now. This is her third Book Expo America.

Looking for Allison? Check out the line for Judy Blume! Here’s what Allison has to say: “I think one of the the books I’m most excited about having the ability to obtain is Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. I know it’s not a new book by any means but it is a book that impacted me as a reader when I was younger. Also, I’m kind of freaking out at the idea of meeting Judy Blume who wrote so many of the books that influenced me as a reader when I was growing up. I’m predicting a total inability to speak to her but at least I can say I will have met her!”

Three Things Allison Has Done To Prepare For BEA:

  • Making lists (shopping list, packing list, BEA planning list, don’t forget lists)
  • Breaking in my new shoes to prepare for all the walking & standing that is ahead of me in the very near future.
  • Frequent internal (and sometimes external) countdowns and freak outs that BEA is so close

This is CassieShe’s my sister and therefore awesome is in her DNA. She’s also the person who got me hooked on YA in the first place. She’s the newest member of Good Books & Good Wine, blogging with us for about a year or so now in addition to writing her own blog about running. This is her first Book Expo America.

Looking for Cassie? You can find her by looking for these books that she’s most excited for: A tie between Rooms by Lauren Oliver, Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult, & The Young Elites by Marie Lu!

Three Things Cassie Has Done To Prepare For BEA:

  • Editing a spreadsheet filled with events and signings that I would like to go to. I’ve also color coded it to match my priorities.
  • Packing 5 days before I leave to make sure I don’t forget anything!
  • Reading as many BEA blog posts as I can to feel more prepared. I love reading the recaps and tips!

We’ll all be on twitter throughout #BEA14 you can catch April by following @booksandwine, Allison by following @bookishfeminist, Cassie by following @cassie_conant! We seriously can’t wait to meet you if you’ll be at BEA and maybe even grab a cocktail or two and talk swoons and writing and world building and books and everything ever.

I’m sure I’ll need a drink or two before the day is up. 😉 I’ll also be in that Mortal Heart line, it is top priority!! Cassie and I have a lot in common. It’ll be my first time going too so I’ve been researching like crazy. ;D
