Hi ya’ll!
Believe it or not, my creative gene decided to kick on while I was reading Never Sit Down in a Hoopskirt and Other Things I Learned in Southern Belle Hell. How you ask? Well, when I was reading all of these different songs kept popping into my head that I felt could relate to the different characters and scenerios I was reading about. So, what is a girl to do when something like this happens? Put them all together in a playlist of course! Here is what I came up with:
When they gave us our trophies
And we held them up for our town
And the cynics were outraged
Screaming “this is absurd”
Cause for a moment a band of thieves
In ripped up jeans got to rule the world
Long Live – Taylor Swift
Hush, hush, don’t you dare say a word
Hush, hush, don’t you know the truth hurts
Hush, hush, when push comes to shove it’s best to keep it hush, hush
Hush, Hush – Pistol Annies
You think your right but you were wrong
You tried to take me but I knew all along
Trouble – Pink
All the simple things you revel in, they just suffocate me
And I don’t know anymore, wish someone would tell me who to be
Because I’m ready, I’m ready to try anything
Church Clothes – Matt Nathanson
First time I did it but I didn’t do it
Last time, that’s when I really blew it
This time I’m gonna do it different ’cause I know, I know, I know
If I put everything I have into it eventually I’m gonna get what’s good for me
What’s Good For Me – Lucy Woodward
In another room there’s laughing entertaining strangers
Walls in there don’t breathe no more but they’re keeping out some angels
Red Headed Step Child – Golden Smog
Time has changed us, rearranged us
And it leaves me wondering why
Little Differences – Save Ferris
Mamma said “Idle hands are Devil’s handy work”
Oh the trouble you’ll get into
Nothin’ Better To Do – LeAnn Rimes
When the water’s high
When the weather’s not so fair
When the well runs dry
Who’s gonna be there?
Find Out Who Your Friends Are – Tracy Lawrence
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ’cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now
Roar – Katy Perry
Grab a hold and carry me
And I will not forget where I am from
Forget where I am from
Southern Air – Yellowcard
I also made the playlist available on Spotify for those of you who have it.
I know it may not make alot of sense if you haven’t read the book but I still think it’s a pretty fun collection of music. I would love it if some people decided to check out Never Sit Down In A Hoopskirt and Other Things I Learned in Southern Belle Hell by Crickett Rumley based on my review and/or this playlist. Or decide to use the playlist for their own daily lives. Either way, I’m a happy person.
Seriously, let me know what you all think!
Oh ALSO: I’ve decided to give away my copy of Never Sit Down In A Hoopskirt and Other Things I Learned in Southern Belle Hell. Just fill out the rafflecopter thing to enter (U.S. Residents 13 years of age and older, please).

This playlist seems so eclectic! I like the fact that you were able to point out which lyrics suited the story best. And I must admit that it’s made me veeeery curious about this one. Great playlist!
