Seriously, the Go-Gos, you sum up my life at this very moment.
Kids, I am on VACATION as of 5 p.m. today, right up until Sunday the 28th, which still technically, I’m on vacation, but I am on-call.
I plan to not waste this vacation and to get caught up on reading and reviewing. You see I want to begin 2011 with a clean slate and zero reviews waiting in the to-be-reviewed queue on goodreads!
These are the books I plan to read:
Invisible Things by Jenny Davidson
Why: It’s releasing in December. The cover is pretty. Plus it’ll whet my historical fiction appetite.
Nightshade by Andrea Creamer
Why: It came out in October. There is an underlying feminist vibe. PLUS ForeverYA gave it a great review. ALSO I wants to meet Shay.
Matched by Ally Condie
Why: The worldbuilding sounds fabulous. I love the concept. Also, I have not read a dystopia in quite a bit of time.
The Curse of the Wendigo by Rick Yancey
Why: I need something that will keep me up all night. ALSO I loved The Monstsrumologist. Plus I need to know what the hell a Wendigo is.
Harriet The Spy by Louise Fitzhugh
Why: Sometimes in the sea of new releases and debuts I just want to kick it old school. Harriet The Spy is a book I started when I was a wee one, but never finished. Also it is one of my Fill In The Gaps books.
The Lost Saint by Bree Despain
Why: I want more time with Grace and Daniel. PLUS the cover is prettyful. ALSO, this releases in December, and getting reviews out on time is awesome.
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
Why: I need to rectify the tragedy that is not having met Tiny Cooper yet. I think my life needs Tiny Cooper in it.
Those of you vacationing next week, what books do you plan on reading?
Do you have any other suggestions of books for me to read? My Owned-TBR is right here, let me know if there is something I just have to get to.

Ooooh can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Nightshade and Will Grayson, Will Grayson…I loved both! And yes…you need to meet Tiny. He is made of pure win π
Sigh, I can’t FREAKING WAITTTTT
Oooh! You are going to be a reading machine! And you might hang out with me!! That’s always exciting lol. I’m probably going to be in the area from Monday until Thanksgiving day but I’m not sure yet! I’ll let you know.
I am beyond pumped to meet you, and yes I do plan on being a reading machine, can’t bloody wait.
April, have a wonderful vacation! You totally deserve it and I hope you finish all those books! Can’t wait to see your review on The Lost Saint and Invisible Things!
Thank you so much Laura π
I’m an educator too — but we have school Monday and Tuesday. But — I LOVE the go-go’s and now I have that song going in my head! Thanks. Have a great vacation. I have great reading goals, but I have much baking and crafting for Christmas that I need to get done, so we’ll have to see how it goes.
Ah, see I’m a community educator, not a traditional educator, yet. SO I sort of create my own schedule.
What are your reading goals?
April, you are making me SO PROUD right now! Nightshade and Matched are both great, and Harriet the Spy is one of my childhood favorites. And everything else on this list I just generally approve of. Excellent work!
Have a great vacation! I just had two weeks off work and going back today was killer. I didn’t get any reviewing done at all though. Ooops.
I’m looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Nightshade and the feminist vibe.
