When you do not have real life friends who love books enough to want to go to a conference or expo featuring books, you may have to turn to the internetz for people to stay with. This could go one of two ways. You could accidentally pick someone a la Jack The Ripper and be afraid to sleep. ORRR you could pick some amazing people who will open your eyes to excellent books.
I did not wind up finding serial killer roommates, thank goodness!
Perhaps you are interested in meeting these awesome people!
Monica of The Bibliophilic Book Blog is the first roommate that I meant. We had talked a bit on twitter, and when I expressed interest in getting roomies for BEA she immediately responded with a reference to the next person I am going to introduce. Monica is amazing. She is a member of the military and has collected money to get eReaders for soldiers who are deployed. How wonderful is that? You should jump on her blog and thank her for being so kind to those in uniform. She reads all types of books, among her favorites is The Mists of Avalon which of course means she likes books made of awesome.
Shanyn of Chick Loves Lit is the second BEA roomie. I am so ridiculously glad that she is my roommate and that we met. She is mad cool, ya’ll. We talk all the time on google chat and twitter. She reviews YA books. She is big into contemporary young adult. Occasionally, her husband will read and review a book on her blog. Yes, he does review YA. So awesome right? Anyways, Shanyn has superb taste in books and often reviews books that I immediately add to my wishlist. She also designed my business cards. Let me say, she’s an awesome graphic artist, if ever need to commission someone for graphics, check her out. She rocks. Oh, and she has this unhealthy obsession with my cleavage. 😉
Finally, Heather of Age 30+…A Lifetime of Books is my third roomie. Heather has been blogging for quite awhile. She is actually one of the panelists for Book Blogger Con. I’m really excited to be rooming with such an experienced blogger! Heather reads a ton of fiction! She also reviews audiobooks. Her latest review as of me pre-writing this post was for Remarkable Creatures by Tracey Chevalier. This review has me lusting for Remarkable Creatures. She has definitely put some new books on my radar, and I love that!
So, anyone else ridiculously excited for BEA?

I'm so excited for BEA 🙂 5 days! I can't believe it's so close!
hahaha What a way to end my intro paragraph.
Can't wait to meet you – thanks for letting me share a room! Oh, and shoot me an email with your phone # when you get a chance (I think you're the only roommate I don't have a # for yet).
O I want to meet Heather. She seems ultra cool and she's a LOSTie.
Enjoy!
I can't make it to BEA this year. But definitely next year.
I will be at BEA and the BBC! I am going with some non bloggy friends but they are all book lovers!!!
I am looking forward t meeting all of you on Friday at the BBC.
🙂
Cool!!! Have fun, ladies!! My husband and parents are taking a mini-vacation and coming to NYC with me. While I'm doing book stuff, they will be sighseeing! I picked a hotel where Jenny-TakeMeAway is staying so I can tag along with her! I don't think she knows that yet, though…. LOL!!! This is going to be great fun!! I definitely want to meet up with all of you ladies!
*clears throat* Technically you never asked me if I was a serial killer…I would be seriously offended, what if I was? Jeeze April.
j/k I do not serial kill in my spare time, it's too hard to fit in between books. 😉
Can't wait to spend time with you, Shanyn, and hopefully Heather next week!
I'm supper excited!! Yeah Party!! Um…I mean – Yeah Books!!
It looks like your roomies are AWESOME. I am so excited to meet you.
