Why Did I Listen To Forever, Again by Victoria Laurie?

Forever, Again by Victoria Laurie showed up as an unsolicited review copy to my house twice. TWICE. To me, this basically doubles the pressure to read it. However, in all fairness I still was not going to put this at the top of my TBR pile because there’s so much out there. I did love the cover though. Then one day I was browsing new audiobook releases on Hoopla and came across this one. I decided okay, it is probably a sign that I should read this book and that audio is going to be the easiest way to go about it. As I was not super invested in reading this book or not, the timing was right. With a newborn and still being on maternity leave, I didn’t want to listen to an audiobook that would take a ton of my mental energy.

What’s The Story Here?

Forever, Again is told from the point of view of two teenagers – Amber Greely and Lily Bennett. Amber’s story is set in the 1980s. She allegedly snapped one day and killed her boyfriend, Spence. Lily’s story is set during present day. She’s about to be a new student at a new school during her junior year, she’s dreading it. However, she meets this boy named Cole and they have an instant connection. Lily then learn’s about Cole’s uncle, Spence who was murdered by Amber, who then took her own life. Lily feels a connection with Amber and is determined to find out what the real story is behind what happened to Amber and Spence.

What Did I Think Of Forever, Again?

I am glad that I listened to the audiobook of Forever, Again. It’s an okay read. I am glad I did not invest too much of my time or energy in this book. I will say that I liked the twist, especially when we find out what really happened to Spence and Amber. As for the romances, I was not too invested in them. I really only cared about the mystery, but that’s fine. If we’re judging by the mystery, I really enjoyed my time with this book.

How’s The Narration?

The audiobook has three narrators, I guess based off of the official information. I will say that it feels like there’s only one female narrator. I am not sure who the main narrator was – Rachel Dulude or Rebecca Gibel. That or if they were each picking a character’s chapters to narrate, I would not be able to tell the difference. As for Charlie Thurston, he narrates for like five minutes and that is it.  I have no complaints about the audiobook – it’s clearly narrated and mostly easy to follow along with.
