1. Read More Of My Own Books. This is probably one of my more evergreen resolutions as I feel like I make this one every year. However, for 2023, I have made a little game of it — giving myself points for different tasks which can be accrued to buy a new book.
@aprilbooksandwine I’m trying to motivate myself to read books from my shelves in 2023 and to unhaul as I go. I made a little game of it for myself with points I can earn toward buying new books by completing small tasks. #KAYKissCountdown #momsofbooktok #aprilbooksandwine #2023readinggoal #greenscreen

2. Unhaul 100 Books. Last year, I unhauled 127 books. My goal was 75. This year, I want to see how many I can unhaul while setting my goal to 100. Here’s hoping for more space cleared off the shelves.
3. Grow My TikTok To 3,000 Followers. Last year, my goal was 1,000 and I ended the year at 1374. I feel like 3,000 is attainable and I am truly having so much fun with the BookTok community.

4. Use Up At Least 4 Products Per Month. My bathroom is filled to the brim with beauty type products and I just want to indulge in self care and use those products up while also clearing out some space.
5. Participate In Dry January. This isn’t obviously a year round goal, but I like the concept of dry January even though my internet name is Books And Wine. I think it can’t hurt to just not drink alcohol for a month. I am interested to see the results.
6. Declutter The Junk Drawer. I am not going to declutter the whole house, but if I start small with something I have been thinking about for years, I think this is doable. Then maybe I can progress onto the utensils drawer.
7. Walk 7,000 Steps Per Day. I honestly barely get in 2,000 steps, unless I walk on the treadmill at night. At which point I end up hitting 7,000 or more steps. For me, personally, 7,000 is much more doable than 10,000. Also, I love just putting a show on my iPad and walking.
8. Burn The Good Candles. This is a philosophy I saw on TikTok and it rings so true to me. In 2023, there were 4 people who passed away in my life. And so, it became kind of clear to me that I save things for special occasions or a certain time, and I just do not get to them — whether that is candles, books, or notebooks. And so, because life is short, I want to use the good things now, because you just never know.
9. Romanticize My Life. I just love this concept. I want to be grateful and content. Part of that is doing things that bring me joy. Another part of that is to have the perspective of romanticizing my life.
10. Print And Frame Photos. So, our house currently is like a shrine to our oldest when it comes to photos. And so, I want to make sure I get the photos we had professionally done of our family printed, framed, and actually hung up on the walls.
