Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason is the first book in the Harmony Harbor series. However, I’ve read other books in this series totally out of order with no issues. This story follows Sophie DiRossi and Liam Gallagher. The book opens up with a fire at Greystone Manor and firefighter Liam Gallagher saving Sophie’s daughter, Mia. It turns out that Mia had been previously traumatized by a fire and does not talk because of that trauma. Also, CPS has their eye on Sophie due to the previous fire — which happened in LA while Sophie was taking an exam, expecting her flaky mom to babysit Mia. As it turns out, sparks fly between Sophie and Liam. Sophie begins to work at Greystone Manor as manager of the hotel. Liam really considers moving back from Boston to Harmony Harbor again. It’ll take a Christmas miracle for Mia to start talking again and for Sophie and Liam to fall in love.
I don’t know if you know this but I am such a Debbie Mason fan. I really enjoy both the Harmony Harbor series and the Highland Falls series. If you like books about characters who struggle a little, small towns, and strong chemistry — you would like her books. Mistletoe Cottage was a well paced story with some drama, a ghost, and more. Naturally, I loved my time with this book. In fact, I am going to read the rest of the Debbie Mason books I have in 2023, I think.
On A Scale Of One To Buddy The Elf, How Much Christmas Spirit Does Mistletoe Cottage Have?
So, Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason opens on Halloween. It then continues through the holiday season and pretty much ends at Christmas. This book really encompasses that full holiday experience and I loved that for myself, the reader. There’s also a holiday parade and a raffle — the mentioned Mistletoe Cottage. I really felt this story was heartfelt and a strong opening to the Harmony Harbor series.
