  1. Totally psyched that people [like me] haven’t read Delirium. Lol, I’m such a dork. I have to read Shatter Me / Unravel Me still too!
    Great List!!

    Vixen’s Top Ten!

  2. I’d go with the Shatter Me series. It’s amazing, if you don’t mind the writing style. 🙂

  3. Ooo I have Jessica Darling series too. I hope to get into these books soon.

I haven’t read Lunar Chronicles yet, but I haven’t heard anyone who didn’t like it, just the opposite, they were really excited with the first book and even more with the second one.

I asked for Cinder in my library, so I’m going to read it this month.

  4. I really need to read The Hobbit and LotR, too! I love the Delirium series and Outlander is incredible!

  5. I vote Shatter Me!! But I haven’t read Jessica Darling and I’ve heard they are basically the gold standard of kissing books so that might be a good choice too! I have not read any Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but have heard they are amazing!

  6. A Song of Fire and Ice and Delirium are on my list too! I’ve heard they’re awesome books! Great list 🙂

    Here’s my Top Ten!

  7. A Song of Fire and Ice is AWESOME! Totally obsessed with that series over here. 😀 Great list, though. LOTR is definitely worth reading, and Shatter Me made mine as well.
    My TTT.

  8. I just finished reading CINDER yesterday and it blew my mind. I’m serious. I hope you get to it soon! I utterly adore anything by Tolkien and FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS, so I hope you get to all of those soon as well.

  9. the only ones I’ve read are jessica darling, which is awesome, and percy jackson (which I LOVE) and the first book in Outlander. You should definitely read all of those. 🙂

  10. A bunch of bloggers and I are currently starting the A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE read-along this month! We’re tackling one book in the series for every two months, so if you feel like joining us, please do. You can hit me up on Twitter if you want to know more about it, especially since we just started this week.

I’ve actually read and loved a lot of series on your list, but none more so than The Lunar Chronicles. I think that Marissa Meyer is a brilliant storyteller, and her world + characters are just so fascinating.

    Other thoughts:

    – You should definitely take the time to read The Hobbit + LOTR. It’s a bit difficult (at least it was the first time I read it), but I do love that series a whole lot, especially books two and three. (The Hobbit is my favorite though!)
    – Percy Jackson & the Olympians is a very easy read, but it’s so thoughtfully done. I think Rick Riordan definitely did something right with his combination of real world + mythology in this one!
    – For Darkness Shows the Stars is a bit slower paced, but it’s absolutely lovely. Diana’s writing is GORGEOUS and the love affair in the book brought me to tears at some points.
    – Shatter Me is such a uniquely written series, and Tahereh has proven that she can take my heart, squeeze it, break it and put it back together again.

Also, about Jessica Darling, I’ll read it if you do 😉

  11. I’m just going to wait here tapping my foot while you go read the Jessica Darling series. Weren’t you supposed to read it with Lenore and me? Well, Lenore didn’t read it either, but she will soon. You should join her!

  12. Eeek I would read the Lunar Chronicles, Delirium, and Shatter Me ASAP! They are all so good, I can’t pick which one to start with 🙂

  13. I love The Lunar Chronicles, Delirium, & Shatter Me series. I enjoyed Wicked. Looking forward to getting to George R.R. Martin, Rick Riordan, and Megan McCafferty soon!

  14. I tried reading The Hobbit series when I was much younger but didn’t really have the attention span for it. It’s on my bucket list of things to read. As for Game of Thrones, I LOOOOOOVE the tv show, I just have found the sheer length of the series to be somewhat intimidating. One of these days though. I am super excited about The Lunar Chronicles as I’ve only heard good things. I would give Percy Jackson a try if only to make up for that dud of a movie. Great picks, lady!

  15. Oh my word. Shatter Me and Delirium….Go. Now. Start reading! Oh AND For Darkness Shows the Stars!! Phenomenal! I know there is a sequel but I think it is a companion novel rather than a continuation of the story so it won’t be so daunting to think you’re starting a whole new series. That one I just read not too long ago and just fell in love with it! Hope you enjoy it when you get to it! 🙂

  16. You need to read the Jessica Darling series! It is so freaking awesome! I think you will especially love it to pieces.

  17. It’s possible I will get thrown out of author club for this, but I’m one of those who LOVES the GOT TV series but hasn’t managed to read the books yet. My husband has, and he fills me in on stuff while we watch. I’ll probably die of embarrassment if I ever meet GRRM though. I’ve read Hobbit and LOTR (start with LOTR is my advice, Hobbit is so silly and childish by comparison, that the tone will really confuse you if you start with Hobbit, as I did) and Jessica Darling (super fun! If you like SSG I think it will be up your alley) and one of the Percy Jacksons (which I really enjoyed, but I haven’t kept up because I’m so slow) and NOTHING else on your list, though I own them all (super behind on my TBR). I tried to read Outlander once, like a decade ago, and it was very much not my cup of tea.

And you are in luck. FDSTS is not a series, no matter what Goodreads keeps insisting on saying. There is a companion novel coming out in the fall, for which one does not have to read For Darkness, OR the Scarlet Pimpernel, or anything else.

  18. The Outlander series has been on so many lists today. lol Huge books but so fantastic, definitely worth the trouble.
Good luck getting some of these knocked out! My Top Ten Tuesday!

  19. Jessica Darling! Jessica Darling!

I need to read For Darkness… too 🙂

  20. I have only read three books of the series mentioned here (For Darkness Shows the Stars, Delirium and Cinder) and they were all kind of duds to be perfectly honest.

I tried to read LotR once but I never made it pass page 100…

so what I’m getting at is that I’m not the best person to ask.

  21. The Outlander series is awesome! I love it so much. The only negative about it is that it is so long before the next book comes out 🙁

I have read The Hobbit and had a really hard time with it, so my LOTR books are now collecting a lot of dust on my shelves.

I also have Shatter me on my list this week. I can’t wait to get to it, I’ve seen so many awesome reviews.

You can find my TTT over at (un)Conventional Bookviews.

  22. A Song of Ice and Fire is really good (and then you’ll be able to watch the show knowing where it’s going in the future). I think The Hobbit and LotR can be difficult reads, but well worth the time and dedication, simply because they’re cornerstones in modern English fantasy. Jessica Darling and the Lunar Chronicles are more fun. I guess it depends on your reading mood, but hopefully you can get to all of them!

    My Top Ten Tuesday

  23. I would say For Darkness Shows the Stars. Really, LOTR should be first (the writing is GORGEOUS), but it’s awfully long. FDStS is a reasonable length and a lot of fun.

  24. Love love love Cinder. Gotta read those books pronto, and A Song of Ice and Fire will just blow your mind. You definitely have to have a LOT of time set aside for those books. The third one is over 1000 pages, so scary. You haven’t read Percy Jackson?? NOOO!!! Get on reading that too!

  25. Definitely read Percy Jackson and The Lunar Chronicles. Percy Jackson is just so much fun. The chapter titles are hilarious! Even though the books have been out for a bit now, they are still always checked out at my library. And Cinder and Scarlet! Oh my gosh, Allison, they are just so freaking wonderful!

  26. The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings!

  27. Shatter Me and Lunar Chronicles are on my list too! I cant believe you have read Percy yet! It’s one of the most amazing books of all time 🙂
    Top 10 Tuesdays

  28. Yes.

Oh, that didn’t really answer your question, did it? Well, a hundred votes to the Jessica Darling series, and one more for the Song of Ice and Fire and the Lunar Chronicles.

  29. Ohh, amazing list 😀 You really need to read Cinder and Scarlet. <3 Such a perfect series 🙂 And omg. Can't believe I forgot the LOTR/Hobbit books for my list.. Love love love love the movies so so much. <3 Hih. Thank you for sharing 🙂
    Love, Carina

  30. Wicked on my list too! and you have some amazing books on your list for sure! I loved Cinder, Delirium, Shatter Me, and the Percy Jackson Series, all are AMAZING reads! hope you get to read them soon ! thanks for checking out my list earlier! – Katie @ Inkk

  31. PERCY JACKSON FOREVERR.
And obviously A Song of Ice and Fire. I mean, that shit will change your LIFE.

  32. Oh, read #5 & #8 first! Love those books. I’ve read the first title in some of these series, but haven’t continued – there’s so much reading to do!

    Thanks for sharing your list!
