Top Ten New-To-Me Authors Allison Read In 2012

Top Ten New-To-Me Authors Allison Read In 2012

1. J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter. Harry Potter. Harry Potter. Need I say more? I’m so glad I finally gave in and decided to read the Harry Potter series before BEA. I can honestly say my life is ten times better because of it. J.K. Rowling is AMAZING!

2. John Green
The Fault in our Stars was the first John Green book I read but it definitely won’t be the last.

3. Juliet Marillier
Sevenwaters is a world that I just want to visit time and time again. It is so epic, and Juliet Marillier really is a queen of fantasy writing.

4. Susan Vaught
I’m really interested in reading more from Susan Vaught especially with how much I loved Freaks Like Us this year.

5. Kristin Cashore
Kristin Cashore is a master storyteller. She’s also extremely fascinating in person, and I can’t wait to read more from her.

6. Elizabeth Wein
Elizabeth Wein is another master storyteller.  Code Name Verity left me breathless!

7. Markus Zusak
I read The Book Thief for the first time this year and was absolutely blown away. The power of that book is almost indescribable. It made me an emotional basketcase, and I loved every second of it.

8. Laini Taylor
Lush writing. Fierce characters. Magical things of beauty. I adored Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and I can’t wait to get my hands on Days of Blood and Starlight.

9. Ruta Sepetrys
If you have not read Between Shades of Grey you need to get your hands on a copy right now. It is truly captivating, and definitely one of my favorite books I read this year.

10. Tammara Webber
Her Between The Lines series has captured my heart with its web of entangled characters, and drama, and refused to let it go. I can’t complain though. I’m really glad I found it … and her!

  7. I’ve never read any of them except JK Rowling! Do you ever wish you had read Harry Potter sooner? I didn’t read it until 2009, and I SO wish now that I had read them as they were coming out and been a part of the fandom back then!

  15. Welcome to the world of JKR adoration. It’s a happy one 🙂

I started working for Freebooksy this year, so I’ve gotten to try out a TON of new-to-me authors in 2012 for free. It’s been a good year 😉

Probably my favorites (just off the top of my head)–

    Marika Christian

    Jack Heath & John Thompson

Those are two completely different books – but they’re both really good. 🙂
