Good morning friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving or if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, not being American and all, a wonderful week! I have been very inundated with plans this week and it feels like I haven’t really had that much time off. HOWEVER, I did really get into pinterest and finding all these great fonts to download and use for graphics and quoted and noted images. This week’s image is from one of my favorite fantasy books and is a scene that I think is totally swoon worthy.
The quote:
“It was courage and strength, and something else too, as if he were standing with her, as if he’d taken her within himself, letting her rest her entire body for a moment on his backbone, her mind in his mind, her heart in the fire of his.”
It’s from when Brigan is sending Fire the feeling of love. SIGH THIS BOOK YOU GUYS.
I reviewed Fire here and it kind of flails about and is all OMG OMG OMG READ THIS BOOK!
Do you find this quote to be swoonworthy or romantic? What are your favorite sigh-inducing quotes?

How I love that quote and its book.
Yay! I was reading a meh review of this one pretty recently and it made me all sad, because I LOVED Fire, even more than Graceling if such a thing is possible. I’m glad you can flail with me!
I love Fire and Brigan. So much.
Love this quote! This is such a great series.
LOVE that quote. It’s going straight to my quotes file.
By the way, what font did you use for the “her heart in the fire of his” quote? I love it!
As for my favorite swoon-worthy quotes, I’m a die-hard romantic who also happens to be a quote fanatic. So, I could probably go on for a while. But here are a couple more recent ones I’ve read.
“Joe is practically singing my name, he sounds so elated, probably still riding high from that kiss, that sublime kiss that could make stars fall into your open hands, a kiss like Cathy and Heathcliff must have had on the moors with the sun beating on their backs and the world streaming with wind and possibility.”
– The Sky Is Everywhere
“We’re only seventeen.â€
“Fuck seventeen. If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If we were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.â€
– The Evolution of Mara Dyer
Also, I’ve also discovered that the majority of lines are much more swoon-worthy in context, such as the following. They will mean nothing to you unless you’ve read them, but if you have? Sa-woon!
“Always.”
“You. Yes, you.”
If you’d like more, I listed a bunch of my favorite romantic quotes here when I got a teeny tiny bit carried away with a Top Ten Tuesday once.
This book didn’t quite gel with me the first time but someone recommended I re-read it after Bitterblue which I think I should really do. I totally get why people love this book though, Cashore’s writing is great.
APRIL, THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER. LIKE. EVER. Seriously, I love Fire. SO MUCH. I love it more than Harry Potter…possibly. I re-read parts of it all the time and IT’S SO PERFECT! LOVE this quote! 😀
HAHAHA how fitting that I stumble on this as I’m geeking out about re-reading these books right now. Seriously, this just made my day. After the post was actually posted, of course, because that’s how I roll. But better late than never. Love this book, love this quote, love Fire!
I am so in love with this quote. It is PERFECTION. And it makes me want to reread the entire series all over again!
