10 Book Weekend

Sometimes, I like to challenge myself a little bit on the weekends. I especially like to challenge myself on the weekends where I have no plans. AND I KNOW THIS IS SUPER WEIRD, but sometimes I like being anti-social and barricading myself in with a nice pile of books.

This weekend, from today, FRIDAY to Sunday, I am challenging myself to finish ten books from my review pile. Why?

  • A) It’ll be easier to get rid of some books.
  • B) I want to get ahead of my goodreads challenge even MORE.
  • C) I want to stockpile some reviews so as to be more organized and less overwhelmed.

So, I bet you are wondering what the ten books I chose are. Their unread pages add up to 2056. I already started one of them yesterday, Incarnate by Jodi Meadows.

The other books:

10 Book Weekend

The List:

  1. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
  2. Hidden by Sophie Jordan
  3. Batman: Super Villains Strike by Michael Teitelbaum
  4. My Own Revolution by Carolyn Marsden
  5. The Revolution Of Evelyn Serrano by Sonia Manzano
  6. My Book Of Life By Angel by Martine Leavitt
  7. All The Right Stuff by Walter Dean Meyers
  8. Zom-B by Darren Shan
  9. Come August, Come Freedom by Gigi Amateau
  10. Floors: 3 Below by Patrick Carmen

It’s likely I won’t be able to get all of these books read, but heck, even half is a big accomplishment. Plus, you know what they say: shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.

What about you all? Any good reading planned for this weekend, let me know in the comments!

Comments

  1. In the words of Rob Schnieder from The Water Boy: “YOU CAN DO IT!”

  2. That’s awesome! I’m going to semi-join you with four books of my own to read this weekend. Good luck!

  3. That sounds like a great weekend! I like to do that too sometimes – my husband goes backpacking twice a year, and I like to hole up and read those weekends. πŸ™‚ Enjoy!

  4. I’m currently reading Anyway by Arthur Salm, The City’s Son by Tom Pollock, Have a Nice Day by Julie Halpern and The Other Normals by Ned Vizzini. Yeah, a lot, lol. I have off Mon-Wed of next week so I’ll be trying to get lots of reading done then. Good luck with your 10 books!

  5. Good way to push yourself!! I love doing this! I’ll do this sometimes but with series… I’ll start the first book on Friday and try to finish the entire series by Sunday night or Monday morning πŸ™‚ It makes me happy, LOL, but I tend to be a hermit & homebody every weekend even though I have a three year old.

I’m starting “Hyde” by Lauren Stewart today & will be reviewing it on my blog this weekend! I’m stoked but this is my first official book review! I’m going to have to browse around and determine how I want to format my reviews from here on out! Any suggestions are helpful!! πŸ™‚

  6. I’m basically consumed with jealousy. With that said, though, my husband will be gone all day on Saturday and Sunday, so if I can get all my other crap done I might get some good reading in too. Good luck!

  7. Holy crap! That’s quite the challenge. I look forward to seeing your progress! πŸ™‚ Good luck!

  8. That’s a great challenge to undertake (and quite the productive use of your time)! This weekend I’ll be attending the National BookFest in DC, so at least a good chunk of my Saturday will still be dedicated to bookish things. Have a wonderful weekend, happy reading and good luck!

  9. Girl, have I mentioned lately that you’re my hero? This is awesome! Good luck!

  10. What an ambitious goal. You have inspired me. I am going to shoot for three books this weekend. That may not seem like much compared to your goal, but I have a toddler. I will check back Monday and let you know how I did.

  11. Ginger @ GReads! says

I’m continuing with the Lucky Harbor series! Just downloaded book 4 and can’t wait to get started πŸ™‚

  12. April, that’s crazy! That’s 5 books a day, isn’t it? Still, I think if anybody can do it you can. Good luck and I hope you don’t wake up Monday morning with your brain thinking you read a book called Batman’s Hidden Life of Revolution by an Angel Zom-B πŸ˜›

  13. you are amazing. I adore you.

  14. I like to be all anti-social and dive into a pile a books too. Even reading five books would be an amazing accomplishment. Good luck, and have fun!

  15. April, I am so surprised that I don’t know ANY of those books except for Incarnate! I hope you enjoy all of them though and good luck with finishing all of those! πŸ™‚

Also, I am SO sorry for not commenting this week! I’m so busy with school that I haven’t had the time, so expect plenty of comment-spam from me now! πŸ˜‰

  16. Sounds good to me! I am also hoping to read Hidden this weekend along with Dearly Beloved and the last 50 pages of Speechless so my reading is not nearly as ambitious. Hope it all goes well!

  17. lol super weird but that’s like, me all the time. OOPS. Come August, Come Freedom has such an INCREDIBLE cover, love it. good luck with your reading!

  18. I love to give myself those kinds of challenges. My weekend reading plans are nowhere near as ambitious but I’m hoping to finish reading [and review!] Endlessly by Kiersten White and The Demon Catchers of Milan by Kat Beyer. I’m SO behind. I’ll have to have myself a challenge weekend pretty soon just so I can catch up!

  19. Good luck! You are one brave woman!

  20. “Shoot for the moon and even if you miss, youÒ€ℒll land among the stars.” is one of my favorite quotes! I miss the days when I could read all weekend! Now, it is snippets while waiting in the car line, a couple of chapters while I’m eating lunch. I’ve learned I can’t read at night before bed, or I never go to sleep πŸ˜‰ Every now and again I get in a funk and take a few days and read non-stop… but then I hate myself for the piles of laundry and dirty dishes that build up πŸ™

Can’t wait to read the reviews!

  21. I hope your reading is going nicely! I am, once again, spending the weekend having fun with wallpaper, and would so much rather be reading too!

  22. BATMAN!

    Also, FLOORS! πŸ™‚

  23. Awesome weekend reading goal, I hoped you had fun! Can’t wait to read your review of Incarnate! I had trouble with the ending (it was rather…cut off and felt disconnected?) but apart from that, I LOVED it. πŸ˜€

  24. Best of luck!

  25. I bow down to you! I could never manage that because a) school would then slap me in the face and b) I just can’t read that fast you insanely skilled woman you! Hope you had fun πŸ˜‰
