You guys, I want a bit crazy, spending my money like it was monopoly money this week. But okay, there was this signing on Sunday and it was at the most YA friendly indie store I have ever been to/go to and of course I could not stop myself from buying books. On the other hand, rather than beat myself up over it, I am going to feel proud that I spent my hard earned money to support authors and book stores. In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren as always.
Purchased:
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein – You guys. I want this book to hug and press into the hands of all my friends and to be able to whip off the shelf whenever I am feeling the urge to read about friendship and want my heart wrenched. God. I love Code Name Verity and even though I got an egalley from Netgalley I absolutely have to have a physical copy of this book on my shelves.
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers – Friends, this book is also one that I had as an egalley from Netgalley and NEED on my shelves. It is one of my favorite books so far in 2012 and again, I want to support the author and also? I want enough copies to sell so LaFevers can continue the series, also the book just looks totally badass all finished and stuff.
The Shadow Cats by Rae Carson (on Kindle) – Okay, I preordered this because I freakin’ LOVED The Girl Of Fire And Thorns and yayyy it came the other day.
From The Signing:
Note: I am only going to list the books I purchased for myself to keep and not the ones I bought to giveaway as that will be shown in my recap post.
The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan – Friends, both The Book Smugglers and Angieville are fans of this series and that is enough for me to buy all three books.
The Demon’s Covenant by Sarah Rees Brennan – Again, I am SO ready for demons! YAY DEMONS!
The Demon’s Surrender by Sarah Rees Brennan – I won’t even pretend that I am not excited about having a complete trilogy in my hands.
City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare – I’ve read this, and did not love it, but whatever I am more than happy to have a signed copy on my shelf.
City Of Ashes by Cassandra Clare – I am looking forward to reading this and will keep an open mind even though I already know about the whole Clary/Jace big reveal thing.
City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare – Again, looking forward to this.
City Of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare – I love the pretty cover.
City Of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare – Peeps, I like the blue and white spine. I AM SO SHALLOW I KNOW.
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare – I really liked this book a whole LOT more than I liked City Of Bones, so yes I was thrilled to finally buy my own copy at the signing.
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare – I am looking forward to continuing the trilogy and reading this. TEAM JEM!
White Cat by Holly Black – Friends, I love magic and the mob and capers and I have heard PLENTY of good things about this trilogy, so yeah I am down.
Red Glove by Holly Black – Again, yay for having the next book in a series immediately available after finish.
Black Heart by Holly Black – Seriously, I LOVE these cover makeovers, I am not even going to lie. So GORGEOUS.
Zombies Vs. Unicorns edited by Justine Larbaleister and Holly Black – So, I’ve reviewed a few of the short stories from this anthology, now I have an actual copy that I purchased that I am more than excited to show off on my shelves. AND IT IS SIGNED. YEAHHHH BUDDY.
For Review:
Speechless by Hannah Harrington (Netgalley) – I requested this one on Netgalley because I think the concept, about a girl staying silent because she leaked someone’s secret is intriguing. Also, sometimes I just love a good contemporary read.
Live Through This by Mindi Scott (Unsolicited) – I have never read a Mindi Scott book before, but the summary is about a girl with secrets and traumatization from abuse and it seems really relevant to my job so this could be a book that I read and review for work newsletter as well. I am definitely glad this little surprise showed up.
Witch World by Christopher Pike (Unsolicited) – I have no idea what this is about besides witches and you guys combined with the red cover, that’s all I need to know to be super EXCITED about this book.

I ordered a copy of City of Bones from the event. I wanted to order more but I am pretty sure my husband would have yelled at me. LOL I am going to be on the lookout for more of her events in the future so I can keep adding to my collection. 🙂
Haha, I can’t blame you for going a little crazy at the signing. I would of to considering all the awesome books you got signed. I keep hearing a lot about Code Name Verity, I really should pick up a copy of it soon.
It looks as though you’ve read most of the ones on your list this week, but I hope you enjoy the ones you haven’t. 🙂
I just got the first three books in TMI recently toooooo. I need to read them to see what everything’s about. Also: yay for CODE NAME VERITY! Enjoy!

Nice haul this week! I really want to get to Code Name Verity soon. Somehow I totally missed it on NetGalley and by the time I’d heard of it, it was archived. Dang it. I’m excited to read your review of Clockwork Prince — I was surprised at how much I loved it!
I enjoyed Grave Mercy and the finished copy is gorgeous! I can’t wait for the continuation and YAY for companion novels rather than sequels! The next book focuses on Sybella and I’m very happy. I’m going to be reading Code Name Verity soon – as soon as I can recover from Tiger Lily.
Have a great time with these awesome books!
Great haul! I really liked City of Bones so I am envying your copy of all the books in the series =D
Also, Speechless sounds ah-mazing!
Here’s my Book Haul post.

You bought the whole Mortal Instruments series? COOL 🙂 I personally liked City of Ashes the best (so far), but I haven’t read the last two books yet.
Dear April,
Please, please, please read Speechless soon. I read it recently and AB-SO-FREAKIN’-LUTELY loved it. I loved Harrington’s Saving June, but by gosh, I loved this even more. I didn’t like the MC much in the beginning, but Harrington did a fantastic job with the story. Wow.
xoxo
I really like the Mortal Instruments series. I need to catch up though I’ve only read the first two books! I hope you enjoy everything. Here’s my IMM =)
