Japan Took The JAP Out Of Me Book Tour

As per my previous post, my life has kind of hit a bit of a stumbling block, so I can’t quite write a full review of Japan Took The JAP Out of Me by Lisa Feinberg. I’m towards the end of the first chapter, so here are my impressions and thoughts so far:

It’s pretty hilarious, there are gratuitous uses of the f-bomb. I’m not bothered by that sort of thing at all. Basically, Lisa is newly married, right, after the wedding, her husband announces they are moving to Japan for two years. We see Lisa deal with culture shock in the first chapter, including Japanese schoolgirls mistaking her for Meg Ryan. Here’s the kicker, Lisa is very high maintenance so she finds it hard to adjust to a somewhat minimalist lifestyle. The writing style isn’t weak or lame, the humor isn’t forced.

Expect a full review later.
