Waiting on Wednesday

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Lately I’ve been into following author blogs. I think it’s a great way to interact with “celebrities” and get some great book recs, as well as to get excited for new books by said authors. That being said I am gnawing my nails in anticipation of Beautiful Creatures by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia.
Here is the cover:
Here is the synopsis from Amazon.com:
There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.

At least, that’s what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Beautiful Creatures hits shelves December 1, 2009.

  1. This one sounds really good, April. Nice pick. And I like the cover – – very dark but it works.

  2. I love following author blogs too. I've gotten behind on it since I started putting more effort into my blog. That's how I was finding out about a lot of upcoming books though and now I feel like I've run out of books to use for Waiting on Wednesday, lol!

This sounds like an interesting book!

  4. This does sound wonderful! I am glad you mentioned it. I will have to add this to my list of books to pick up. I will have to keep an eye out for it in December. Hmmm, maybe it could be a christmas gift – that's an idea!

    Thank you!
