Allison: 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge Day 1

Hey everyone.

Not sure if you remember me or not but I’m Allison. I’ve been co-blogging with April at Good Books and Good Wine since 2012. Unfortunately last year got a little hectic for me and I dropped off the radar. I’m hoping that this year I’ll be able to rejoin the blog and start spreading my love for all of the books I read.

To kick things off I’m going to be doing the 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge that April first did in 2013. You can check out the official challenge here, and if you’d like to join in – please do! I can’t wait to reconnect with everyone, and in the process hopefully meet some amazing new people as well.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Day 1: Make 15 book-related confessions.

  1. More recently I’ve found myself to be a bigger fan of contemporary romances than I thought I was.
  2. I constantly experience TBR guilt – especially when I see others reading 3-4 books a week and I sometimes can barely get through one.
  3. I have a tin of all the bookmarks that I have collected over the years.
  4. If there is an animal introduced into a book, I’m always terrified that something bad is going to happen to it.
  5. I love supporting debut authors and helping introduce their work into the world.
  6. I enjoy finding songs that relate to the book that I’m currently reading.
  7. I listen to audiobooks while I clean the house, pay bills, or write letters. Unfortunately, I have a terrible habit of not always finishing them once I start them.
  8. I love to expand my horizons with the types of books that I read however, I am admittedly skeptical about certain genres if I’ve had bad experiences in the past.
  9. Growing up, I always enjoyed reading books set in far away places because my hometown is so small, and it was fun to imagine places that were the total opposite of it.
  10. In order for me to truly enjoy a book, the characters inside have to relatable or have substance that I find interesting. I cannot do flaky characters, or douchebags.
  11. I enjoy participating in read-a-thons and read-alongs. It’s fun to challenge myself and to interact with others who are trying to do the same.
  12. If I’m traveling, I will bring my Nook with me so that I don’t have to answer questions about the book I’m reading based on people seeing the cover.
  13. Growing up, I also always enjoyed reading books set in a different time period. Truth? I still love doing this.
  14. I try not to judge a book by its cover but admittedly if the typography or imagery on the cover catches my eye I’m 100% more likely to read it.
  15. Library book sales of my downfall. No matter how much I try to resist – if the phase “a box/bag of books for $1.00” is involved – I’m going to go check it out and hopefully find some sort of hidden treasure in the process.

So, do you do any of these confessions?

Let me know!
