Oh my god you guysssss this post is up like 9 hours late and I am so sorry! You all know how it is — with vacation and being so relaxed that you stupidly forget to put up posts.
Anyways, Kat and Stephanie over at Cuddlebuggery are hosting this awesome giveaway hop where you give away a favorite book or two from 2012. I’ve never been involved in a giveaway hop before and so I wanted to see if it makes any difference blogging and if any new people are going to stop by and check out my humble abode. Also, I figured I;d rather try participating in a giveaway hop hosted by people I like, ha ha.
So, the prizes!
I have one hardcover of Gilt by Katherine Longshore and one ARC of Live Through This by Mindi Scott for one winner. The prizes are international as well. Ends 1/6/13.
Why did I choose Gilt? – I think Gilt is a wonderfully written historical fiction novel that puts a very human touch on Kitty Howard, even though the book is not entirely about Kitty. Plus, it’s kind of romantic. Yet, there’s also the grit and grime that come with real life history.
Why did I choose Live Through This? OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. This book is heart breaking and sad and uplifting and beautifully written. It provides a much needed victim perspective without at all becoming like an afterschool special. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Thanks for the giveaway, April! The books sound great, haven’t read either of them – and I’m trying to remember who Kitty Howard is, the name sounds familiar. 🙂
She was the really young girl King Henry married when he was all gross and decrepit and Kitty like had an affair with Thomas Colepepper because he was young and virile unlike the king. Then her head went on the chopping block. I’m pretty sure that’s not a spoiler because it happened in real life.
I REALLY want Gilt. I have this strange fascination with all things Tudors. Lol.
Hi there, thanks for the giveaway ^^
Since I do not want/like to cheat… I used to be a teacher for a long time and now I am a translator, do I still get a point anyway? ;p *just checking*
Cya!
Sure, I’ll count that. 🙂
