A stubborn nobleman and a willful young woman are at the heart of bestselling author Amelia Grey's newest love story.

Can An Improper Proposal
Adam Greyhawke is through with marriage. After losing his wife at a young age, he's more interested in carousing and gambling at the Heirs' Club than taking another trip to the altar. When his obligations as the Earl of Greyhawke thrust him into the heart of Society, he dreads the boredom that only a ballroom can inspire in a roguish scoundrel. That is, until he meets a bewitching young woman who captures his curiosity—and reminds him just how delicious desire can be.

Lead To True And Lasting Passion?
Miss Katharine Wright is accustomed to men interested only in her generous dowry. Adam's attraction is far more powerful—he tests her wits and her courage at every turn, until she finds herself longing to fulfill an everlasting passion she never imagined was possible. But the breathtakingly handsome nobleman is as stubborn as he is scandalous, and Katharine must be the one to convince him that real love is worth any risk…

Wedding Night with the Earl is only my second experience with author Amelia Grey but I have a feeling that it will not be my last. Previously, I had read The Duke and Miss Christmas which was a holiday novella set within the same location as Wedding Night with the Earl. As a novella, it only gave me a brief taste of the setting and the Regency time period so I was admittedly excited when I got the opportunity to delve deeper into it with a full length novel. As many of you know, I’m a sucker for historical romance especially in the time of kings, queens, dukes, and earls. Especially when the Earl is as sweet as the one in this story.

The two main characters in Wedding Night with the Earl are Adam and Katherine. Both of them come from the wealthier part of society but are not necessarily fully accepted into their roles. Adam recently just discovered that he is now the actual Earl of Greyhawke and that he now has to care for his nephew Dixon whose parents recently perished.  This forces him to return to London where he hasn’t been in two years after he lost his Annie during childbirth. Adam blamed himself for Annie’s death and has sworn that he will never marry again.

Enter Katherine. Katherine is the niece of a wealthy Duke who has been under his care since she was seven years old and a horrific carriage accident took the life of her parents and siblings. She suffered a leg injury from the accident which has given her a limp and forces her to use a cane to steady herself while walking. Her aunt and uncle are very overprotective of her but now that she is of age would like her to find a husband of her own to care for her for the rest of her life. Katherine feels indebted to her family for caring for her for so long and promises that this season, her third season, will be her last before she selects a husband.

When Adam and Katherine first meet, the sparks are immediate. There is a bit of a misunderstanding which dampens their mood about each other but before the night is over it is obvious that there is something there between them. Each of them tries to brush it off as simple attraction but honestly it is more than that and as much as they try to deny it, when they are together let’s just say that actions speak louder than words. Although there are lots of words between them due to their almost constant bantering. Neither character liked to let the other have the last word so they were constantly challenging each other on their beliefs and how they felt about each other. There were a few things that I wish had been hashed out between them better but I did like the way that each of them came to the realization that they did care and didn’t want to be without each other. Oh, and the secret meetings? Those were a plus too!

The Regency setting that Amelia Grey brought to the story was really easy to get lost in. I loved imagining the dances, the gowns, and the majestic houses of London. In fact, reading Wedding Night With The Earl has made me think that I would like to check out the other two books in this trilogy. I would like to know the stories of Adam’s best friends, Bray and Harrison, who both do such a hilarious job of calling Adam out when he denies having feelings for Katherine. I’d like to get to know them better, and find out more about the women who stole their hearts in the same way that Katherine stole Adams. Looks like I’ll be adding two more books to my TBR list … oh well, I think in the end it will be worth it!
