Why do you blog about books?
In 2012, I wrote a blog post about my experience at the 2012 BEA Bloggers Conference.
This is an excerpt that still stands true today for me:
“I joined this blogging world for fun after being invited by April. I don’t plan on making this into a career of sorts. I’m not in this for the advance copies or any of the other “perks†that may come along with being a book blogger. As nice as those are, they are not the reason that I continue to do this. I continue to do this for the networking with other bloggers; to have the ability to discuss a book with another person who loved it as much as I did; to be a part of something that I see as important in its own little way.”
I love being able to talk about books with others who understand why I love them like I do. To be able to gush about something that I love so much and to have people reciprocate it in the same manner? That is amazing. It brings me joy to know that someone might pick up a book because of my recommendation. Being a part of this blogging world has brought so many good people into my life and for that I’m eternally grateful.
