Allison: Book Blogger Challenge Day 7

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Blogging quirks

Today’s prompt is about blogging quirks, and admittedly it took me a little bit to figure out what I was going to write for this. Everyone has their own unique style of writing their reviews and these are some of the things that have helped create my style…

  • I have to write my reviews on the computer. I’ve tried to hand-write my reviews and it usually lasts for a little while and then I start to slack off again. I always seem to do better when I’m sitting in front my laptop and writing.
  • I tend to use a lot of the same words or phrases when I’m writing a review for a book that I really loved. Even when I’m writing a review for a book that I may have disliked I have a tendency to use certain phrases that don’t paint the book in an entirely negative light.
  • I will spend forever looking for the perfect gif to go with a review. Especially if I’m having trouble expressing my emotions about the book with actual words.
  • I have to have something on in the background when I’m writing a review. Music – a television show – an audiobook. I think it allows me to focus better while also keeping me calm.
  • I don’t fully understand formatting but I do my best to format my reviews so that they appear to look nice on the blog and are a good representation of the hard work that April puts into the website. I will not publish anything that I think is not worthy of Good Books and Good Wine.
