She’s got probable cause to make her move . . .
Danika Silva can’t stand Lt. Greer Burns. Her roommate’s older brother may be sexy as hell, but he’s also a cold, unfeeling robot. She just wants to graduate the police academy and forget about her scowling superior. But when a dangerous mistake lands Danika on probation—under Greer’s watch—she’s forced to interact with the big, hulking jerk. Call him daily to check in? Done. Ride shotgun in his cruiser every night? Done. Try not to climb into his giant, muscular lap and kiss him? Umm…
Greer doesn’t let anything—or anyone—distract him from the job. Except lately, all he can think about is Danika. He’s wanted the beautiful, cocky recruit since the moment he saw her. But she’s reckless and unpredictable, and Greer is painfully aware of what can happen when an officer doesn’t follow the rules. Probation seemed like a good idea, but now Danika’s scent is in his car and he’s replayed her voicemails twenty times. Christ, he’s a goner.
Danika’s melting Greer’s stone-cold exterior one ride-along at a time. Being together could have serious consequences… but breaking a few rules never hurt anybody, right?

Why Did I Listen To Disturbing His Peace by Tessa Bailey?

Disturbing His Peace by Tessa Bailey is third in Bailey’s Academy series and the first book I read from the series. Honestly, I picked it up because it was the shortest audiobook version of one of the books on my TBR cart. Seriously, I am trying hard to whip through my goal of reading and listening to books from my shelf. I thought I’d give this series of Bailey’s a chance even though I am not the hugest fan of her other series, Tools Of Engagement.

What’s The Story Here?

Disturbing His Peace alternates chapters between Danika Silva, a new recruit at police academy and Lt. Greer Burns who is her instructor. Oh and he’s also her roommate’s older brother. Danika makes a mistake — involving placing herself in some danger while trying to protect her cousin. This causes her to end up on probation with Greer. It is a total pain except there’s some definite attraction and chemistry there. Meanwhile, Greer is super protective of Danika because of some trauma from losing a partner previously. And so, he has to figure out how to navigate what is between them without letting his past take it over. Oh, and there’s still the issue of the criminals Danika tried to protect her cousin from.

How Did I Like Disturbing His Peace?

So, I do like Tessa Bailey’s books via audio better than I do via physically reading. It is hard for me to really articulate why. Maybe it is because I am forced to keep going instead of getting stuck on certain things or a little bit bored. I liked that Danika was spunky and brave, plus devoted to her family. Greer’s character development was compelling as well. As it turns out, I liked this book okay.

How’s The Narration?

One thing which was wonderful about the Disturbing His Peace audiobook is that it has two narrators. I loved that there was a narrator for Danika’s sections – Lola Canela and one for Greer’s sections – Jacob Morgan. That was a factor which kept my attention and kept me listening. Also, I listened to this at 2x speed because I had essentially three days to listen before it was due back to the library, haha really cut it close. Still, at a speed of 2x, I could absolutely follow along with and understand the plot. The audiobook is 7 hours and 37 minutes unabridged.
