Why Did I Listen To Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater?

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater is the third book in the Raven Cycle, it is the penultimate book. I have both a physical copy of the book and I purchased the audiobook. Essentially, I began this series in audiobook format and I think I want to end the series in audiobook format. ALSO! These audiobooks are so perfectly narrated – so I pretty much knew that I would enjoy Stiefvater’s Blue Lily, Lily Blue.

What’s The Story Here?

Blue Lily, Lily Blue begins immediately following the events of The Dream Thieves — after we learn Ronan Lynch’s ability to take things from dreams. The boys are back in Aglionby and Blue is on the search for her mother, Maura, who has disappeared. Joining the search is Mr. Gray, who is Maura’s ex boyfriend, who also happens to be a hitman. OH YEAH AND there’s this other character named Greenmantle who is actually an adult and a terrible person. Meanwhile, Gansey’s mentor, Mr. Malory comes from England to stay and coach the kids regarding leylines. OH AND Blue and Gansey are attracted to each other. Aside from this, I honestly do not remember a whole heck of a lot about the plot given that I listened to this audiobook of Blue Lily, Lily Blue back in December 2014, so essentially a year ago.

How Much More In Love With This Series Am I Now?

I kind of feel like my whole reviewing Stiefvater’s Blue Lily, Lily Blue so late after listening to the audiobook is a testament to how much I loved this book and this series. Basically I really love all of the characters in this series, but most especially Ronan. BUT ALSO ALL OF THE OTHER ONES – Blue and Noah and Adam and Gansey. I loved that in this book I am pretty sure we find out why Noah died, or at least, how he died. (Again, it’s been so long sorry if I mess up the details, I just wanted to share my love of this book.) I think that each book gets better and better and I am more in awe of Stiefvater’s writing — which also leads me to the conclusion that I for serious need to finish reading her Wolves Of Mercy Falls series, because I quite enjoyed both Shiver and Linger. Anyways, I for serious cannot wait for The Raven King to come out.

How’s The Narration Of Blue Lily, Lily Blue?

I am quite loyal to the audiobook versions of this series. Will Patton is the narrator of Blue Lily, Lily Blue as he was the narrator of the previous two books. You would think it might be a little odd to have a guy narrating these books, but honestly, it works so well. Patton is an amazing narrator. I initially began The Raven Boys on audio because it was free via Audiobook Sync (I think) and I just fell in love with the narration. I continued the next two books on audio and honestly will eagerly spend my Audible credit on The Raven King with no regrets.
