The non-stop sequel to The Dark Divine delivers an even hotter romance and more thrilling action than Bree Despain's first novel.  Grace Divine made the ultimate sacrifice to cure Daniel Kalbi.  She gave her soul to the wolf to save him and lost her beloved mother.  When Grace receives a haunting phone call from Jude, she knows what she must do.  She must become a Hound of Heaven.  Desparate to find Jude, Grace befriends Talbot - a newcomer to town who promises her that he can help her be a hero.  But as the two grow closer, the wolf grows in Grace, and her relationship with Daniel begins to crumble.  Unaware of the dark path she is walking, Grace becomes prideful in her new abilities - not realizing that an old enemy has returned and deadly trap is about to be sprung.  Readers, raveous for more Grace and Daniel, will be itching to sink their teeth into The Lost Saint.

Potential Spoiler For Dark Divine Alert

The Lost Saint by Bree Despain is the sequel to The Dark Divine. Grace is flexing her new werewolf powers, but also growing slightly apart from boyfriend, Daniel. Meanwhile, Jude, Grace’s brother is still missing. The Divine family is on the search for him. To further complicate matters, Grace is growing very close to a mysterious stranger.

Filled with tension, The Lost Saint is worthy of it’s predecessor. I know I was on edge quite a few times, as I could tell a person was bad, but could not predict what they would do. Plus, well you know Grace is a teenager, so she’s at that stage where she is exploring her options and well, bad is sometimes quite appealing. Either way, I KIND of liked the love triangle. Although, we all know there’s no real contest. DANIEL KALBI HOLLAAAA. Despite the lack of contest, there’s still sexual tension, but no actual sex occurs. Plenty of kisses though.

I tend to harp a lot on character development. I thought we saw more development of Grace. I do like her character arc so far. I mean, she’s pushing her limits. She’s constantly being watched, because she’s the pastor’s daughter, which is a different dynamic for me. I like that Grace’s reputation as being the daughter of a pillar of the community is further explored. I like that in this book Grace takes on some independence. I like that she thinks for herself and doesn’t always toe the line with orders she has been given.

I would have liked more about Grace’s father, because he is an interesting character. He risks so much to save his son and really gives a shiz about his family. Yet, he’s also got faults. I mean, he gets so caught up with what’s going on with Jude that he pretty much ignores everyone else in the family.

The pacing of The Lost Saint by Bree Despain is break neck. It’s one of the last books I read while on my vacation, because I thought it would take me a long time to read. Nope. I think I read it in a day. Seriously, good book. I guess I just need to trust that Despain will provide a good story and not be skeptical of the amount of pages.
