Allison: Book Blogger Challenge Day 6

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Describe how you shop for books.

It starts out like this…
I walk into a bookstore. I take a deep breath.
And I smell the fragrant air that smells like books and usually coffee.

I walk down the aisles and check out the books. If I see a book that I’ve read before and loved, I smile. If I see a book that I’ve heard lots of good things about, I smiled – pick up said book – and look it over. If I see a book that everyone on Twitter is talking about in a not so nice way, I laugh and walk away from the book before I cause a scene from my laughter.

Honestly, I haven’t done much physical book shopping lately. I did when I was in NYC last summer and visited The Strand but that was after a long time of perusing the books and the shelves. In the past, I used to visit Oblong Books with April and go to their book signings. Hands down, Oblong Books is still my favorite Indie bookstore. The atmosphere is so pleasant, and they always have amazing books to recommend to you.

Alas, a lot of my time in a bookstore is mainly just spent walking around and being content in a place that has books. If I buy a book, it’s usually after long deliberation with myself over rather or not I actually need the book in the first place. Meanwhile, in my mind there are always thoughts like these when I’m there….

What is it like for you when you shop for books?
