Witch, Please! Let’s Talk Hocus Pocus Memories

My 100% favorite fall movie of all time (I have several favorite fall movies) is Hocus Pocus. I can remember seeing this movie back when it came out on VHS (I am old). We rented it from Video Entertainment. FYI, video rental stores were from another era. I have to say, renting from the video store was definitely more of an event than just streaming something or popping by the Redbox kiosk. There were all the movies on the walls and just all this possibility within the store. PLUS THE CANDY. SO MUCH CANDY. So, I was certainly a kid when this came out on VHS and I just remember renting it and watching it upstairs in my parents room on their waterbed with my sisters while my parents watched their grown up movie downstairs. This movie then became a fall tradition for me, where I have to watch it every year. We own a copy I think on Bluray, but I still get excited over catching it on TV – especially if it happens to be a part of the Thirteen Days Of Halloween.

So What Is Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel about?

Hocus Pocus Book Cover

Hocus Pocus is beloved by Halloween enthusiasts all over the world. Diving once more into the world of witches, this electrifying two-part young adult novel, released on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the 1993 film, marks a new era of Hocus Pocus. Fans will be spellbound by a fresh retelling of the original film, followed by the all-new sequel that continues the story with the next generation of Salem teens.

Shortly after moving from California to Salem, Massachusetts, Max Dennison finds himself in hot water when he accidentally releases a coven of witches, the Sanderson sisters, from the afterlife. Max, his sister, and his new friends (human and otherwise) must find a way to stop the witches from carrying out their evil plan and remaining on earth to torment Salem for all eternity.

Twenty-five years later, Max and Allison’s seventeen-year-old daughter, Poppy, finds herself face-to-face with the Sanderson sisters in all their sinister glory. When Halloween celebrations don’t quite go as planned, it’s a race against time as Poppy and her friends fight to save her family and all of Salem from the witches’ latest vile scheme.
