Can Belly make a final choice between Jeremiah and Conrad? Find out in the conclusion of the New York Times bestselling The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy, now in paperback.
Belly has only ever been in love with two boys, both with the last name Fisher. And after being with Jeremiah for the last two years, she’s almost positive he is her soul mate. Almost. While Conrad has not gotten over the mistake of letting Belly go, Jeremiah has always known that Belly is the girl for him. So when Belly and Jeremiah decide to make things forever, Conrad realizes that it’s now or never—tell Belly he loves her, or lose her for good.     Belly will have to confront her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad and face the inevitable: She will have to break one of their hearts.     This paperback edition features bonus content, including Conrad’s letters to Belly and an excerpt of Burn for Burn, the upcoming new book from Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian!

We’ll Always Have Summer has me asking myself if Jenny Han is actually a wizard. I mean, she has yet to write a book that I do not like. Of course, the end of a series typically is cause for a little bit of anxiety. We all want the ending that we think a series deserves — especially for the series that we are very much invested in. Straight up, I was absolutely invested in how the Summer series was going to resolve. I’m glad to say I made it to the end of this journey to Cousins Beach and regret absolutely nothing.

We'll Always Have Summer has me asking myself if Jenny Han is actually a wizard. I mean, she has yet to write a book that I do not like.

We’ll Always Have Summer takes place two years after the events of It’s Not Summer Without You. Belly is now a college freshman. She’s been dating Jeremiah for two years. The two are at the same university. When Jeremiah makes a big mistake in their relationship, he tries to fix it with another terrible life choice. The two find themselves engaged and Belly begins to plan a wedding. Only, oh, there’s just these old Conrad feelings looming within her and he may possibly still be into her, IDK IDK READ THE JACKET COVER. And so, the love triangle truly comes to a head.

So one thing that really surprised me A LOT about Belly and her character was the fact that she was still a virgin, despite being in a two year relationship with Jeremiah. In fact, one year of which was spent at college. I just found that really surprising and unrealistic. I know, not everyone has similar experiences, but anyways, it just seemed odd. ASIDE FROM THIS, I thought Belly was great. Jenny Han does a great job making Belly or Isobel feel like one of the girls. She’s still very close with Taylor, her high school best friend. She has a new chill friend named Anika. And also, Belly just really wants her mom to be there for her. She has got so much going on and just ends up really maturing and finally making good life choices.

We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han finally FINALLY resolves the Belly-Conrad-Jeremiah love triangle. I must say I have come around to Team Conrad. For The Summer I Turned Pretty, I was team Jeremiah. And I feel like my taste has just been evolving. Jeremiah is fun sure, but I guess Conrad is more serious and thoughtful. Fun is great and all, but at the end of the day it doesn’t trump consideration and thoughtfulness. There is a whole lot of emotion that goes hand in hand with the romance and how it resolves is absolutely perfect. I can not imagine any other ending.

Of course, I was sucked into this book and stayed up pretty late on a work night to read it right to the conclusion. I’m so glad I decided to make time to finally finish this series. I do wish that I hadn’t waited so long to actually read through all the books. There’s no time like the present though, so if you haven’t yet, give the Summer series a chance.

  2. What a lovely review! I definitely enjoyed this trilogy, and I quite like how Jenny Han resolved things in the end. I think, as always, she portrays the relationships to be the complicated and wonderful things that they are – especially romantic ones. So glad you enjoyed this one!
