#NoiseForNess Giveaway

You guys ever begin a series and then find yourself afraid to read the last book in the series because you don’t know that you heart can take it? That’s my feeling toward the Chaos Walking trilogy. I’ve read the first two, but I am so scared to read the last book. I will do it someday, I swear, but oh my goodness those first two kind of slayed me. Here at the Good Books And Good Wine headquarters, we are huge fans of Patrick Ness. In fact, Cassie and her boyfriend Ryan have plans to name their first dog Manchee, last I remember.

Thanks to the lovely people at Candlewick Press, I am able to offer one lucky reader a paperback set of the Chaos Walking series, and these are the redesign paperbacks and include The Knife Of Never Letting Go, The Ask And The Answer, and Monsters Of Men as well as a paperback copy of Ness’s latest book More Than This.

  1. I love you, April. Seriously. Thank you for featuring The Chaos Walking trilogy, this is the series that started it all for me and thanks to it I started blogging those many years ago. I love it so much, but can you believe I don’t actually own it?! I am keeping my fingers crossed here 🙂

The last book that had me bawling was Jojo Moyes’ One Plus One and pretty much for the same reason I was bawling while reading Chaos. You know what I’m talking about right? And please, please, PLEASE read the last book, you will not regret!

    VIOLA!!!! 😀

  2. Love this series. I got the chance to meet him a few years back. Super nice guy!!

As for the the last book that made me cry – The Fault in Our Stars

  3. Last night, I finished The Sea of Tranquility and it made me cry throughout the last 25%.

  4. I cried while reading silver phoenix by Cindy Pon

  5. Eeeeep thank you so much for this giveaway. I’ve been dying to read this series and those new redesigned covers are making it hard for me to stick to my book buying ban.

The last book that made me cry was Jellicoe Road. The first half of the book was really confusing but the second half was just pure, unadulterated pain like I’ve never felt before. I pretty much cried through the second 200 pages.

  6. Salt & Storm by Kendall Kulper. It was amazing

  7. I read the first book in Chaos Walking and have not had a chance to get to the other two yet…but I loved it. Thanks for the giveaway!

As for books that made me cry…this is a bit weird, but Just Like the Movies by Kelly Fiore made me teary because Lily, one of the MCs, was basically me in high school.

    Second Chance Summer.

  9. I cry at everything. I recently made the wise decision to read After I Do; Forever, Interrupted; and The Sea of Tranquility all in one week. Technically Forever, Interrupted was the last of those three that I read, so that’s the last book that made me cry.

This is such a great giveaway!

  10. Cristina says

Love this series. My top favorite of all time!!

  11. Ah! I love the new covers!!! Also, I need more Patrick Ness in my life. Clearly. And the last book that made me cry was actually We Were Liars….yep. 🙂

  12. Sarah K. says

I don’t cry when I read that much, but the books that do make me cry are amazing. The last book that I cried about was Jellicoe Road. I have also cried at His Dark Materials, Where The Red Fern Grows, The Evil Genius series, The Book Thief, If I Stay, and The Outsiders.

  13. It was Making Faces by Amy Harmon. It was so good but so sad at the same time.

Thanks for this awesome giveaway!! Patrick Ness is one author I have yet to pick up any of his books. I’ve only heard great things about The Chaos Walking trilogy so I’m definitely looking forward to getting to them!

  14. The last book that made me cry was Tattoos on the Heart by Fr. Gregory Doyle. L-o-v-e-d it.

  15. oooh… this series sounds fantastic! Thanks for the spotlight and giveaway!!! I actually don’t cry easily in real life or while reading, even when they really touch me. I think I teared up a bit a looong time ago when I read My Sister’s Keeper but that was b/c it brought back memories of a similar experience I had had.

  16. Everything Leads to You but also because of outside things and like, IT IS SO GOOD.

  17. First off, that’s an awesome dog name and I might have to consider it for a future pet as well! And secondly, I am in love with this series! I can tell you that the third book is just as amazing as the first two, if not more, but I can understand the fear of it being a letdown. Also, A Monster Calls = awesome! I have More Than This waiting for me on my bookshelf, and I need to get to it soon. Thanks so much for the giveaway! 😀

  18. Sunnymay says

I finished a book this morning, Aftershock by Nancy Warren. It’s from Harlequin and is part of the Code Red series. By page two, you know that it’s going to be hot with an earthquake thrown in.

  19. Wow! I’ve been wanting to read this series for a loooong time, thanks for the giveaway. The last book that made me cry was The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simmons, and I was also sacred of reading the last book!

  20. I’ve cried over quite a few reads, but I think the one I cried over the most recently was Strange and Ever After by Susan Dennard. It was the final book in her Something Strange and Deadly trilogy, which was bittersweet and wonderful and moving. I seriously spent some time recovering from it because it hurt ALL OF MY FEELS.

This is a great giveaway, by the way! Been meaning to read his books for like FOREVER, so this would be the perfect opportunity!

  21. The last book that made me cry was Champion by Marie Lu. I bawled like a baby during the epilogue, but the funny thing -I never cried in any of the other books. Something about that epilogue though sent me over the edge! Thanks for the cool giveaway! I love your blog!

Amanda @ Of Spectacles and Books

  22. I recently read A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and loved it! I really want to read more by him, so this is an excellent giveaway.

A Monster Calls is actually one of the more recent books to make me cry, but the most recent was probably on of the Daughter of Smoke & Bone books.

  23. I’m trying to remember… I think I last cried while reading… Hmm… Maybe One Day by Melissa Kantor. Yup. That one… SO. SAD.

  24. Undone by Cat Clarke

  25. We Were Liars made me cry for about thirty minutes. The ending was so unexpectedly sad and it really hit me.

  26. Thanks for the giveaway! I’ve heard nothing but praise for Ness’ works so hopefully I can start reading them soon.
As for your question, I’d have to go with THAT SCENE from Allegiant.

  27. Last book that made me cry was MINDERS by Michele Jaffe, which I read in mid-July — and which I. Absolutely. LOVED!!

You have no idea how much I would love to win this prize!! I’m a big Ness fan! I’ve got my fingers crossed! 🙂

  28. the fault in our stars

  29. Simonet H. says

The last book that made me cry was Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

  30. Darith L. says

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

  31. Weirdly enough, More Than This by Patrick Ness. The friendships in that book made me reflect on my own friendships, and how awesome everybody has been.

  32. It is entirely possible that this series is the last one that made me cry….:)

  33. Between Shades of Grey 🙁 made me cry!

  34. Lori Hopkins says

The last one to make me WANT to cry is Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood. I just don’t cry anymore at most things. The last make me actually cry was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows…heartwrenching!

  35. Well, I don’t cry during books, or movies for that matter, ever, but I do get mentally emotional. So with that in mind, the last book I got emotional over was The One be Kiera Cass.

  36. I don’t remember the last book that did that.
