Stacking The Shelves (65) | Book Haul

I am looking forward to the day when I write a little intro and can say, wow, last week was boring and quiet. Alas, that is not the case. There was a lot of leaving the house, a lot of not very optional things that I absolutely cannot delve into on here. As for bookish things, I finished a few longer, heavier books, including one adult book – Thorn Jack and one literary YA book – Conversion. What are you reading?

For Review:

Girl Defective by Simmone Howell (Unsolicited Review Copy) – This book is a hipster, meaning I am excited as hell to read it.

Of Metal And Wishes by Sarah Fine (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Romance and diverse cover and inspired by Phantom Of The Opera? BOOM I WANT IT.

The Promise by Robyn Carr (Unsolicited Review Copy)

Four: A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth (Unsolicited Review Copy) – This came with a cookie which was delicious.

The Shadow Hero by Gene Luen Yang & Sonny Liew (Amazon Vine) – I am over the moon excited for this!

Greenglass House by Kate Milford (Amazon Vine) – I loved The Boneshaker and am expecting to love this too.

Boomerang by Noelle August (Unsolicited Review Copy) – It’s the summer of New Adult and I am so excited.

Rebellion by Karen Sandler (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I definitely need to read Tankborn like yesterday.

Drift by MK Hutchins (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I love this cover beyond words.

The Queen Of The Tearling by Erika Johansen (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I really, really, really enjoyed this book. Read my review here.

  1. Nice haul. I have been hearing really good things about The Queen of Tearling. I hope you enjoy all your new books.

    Grace

  2. OF METAL AND WISHES!!!! I’m not sure if you’ve read her Guards of the Shadowlands series (book 1 and 2 are out, book 3 comes out in October) but it is AMAZING! I highly recommend it! I hope you love Of Metal and Wishes, I can’t wait to read this one. Also, I just recently finished The Queen of the Tearling and loved it. The hardcover is beautiful! Enjoy! And happy early birthday 🙂 🙂

  3. Great haul and I loved the video!

  4. Kathy Martin says

Nice assortment of books. I really liked The Queen of the Tearling too. My review for it should be posted this week. Come see what I got this week at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

  5. You got so many great books this week! I hope you enjoy them and happy reading! 🙂

  6. Oooo, I loved American Born Chinese, but I still need to read Boxers & Saints. I’m not normally a huge fan graphic novels, but there are definitely some exceptions and Gene Luen Yang is one of them. Also Raina Telgemeier.

    It was SOOO hot yesterday.

    Enjoy your goodies. 🙂

  7. Hi April, I really enjoyed your video. It’s nice to have a book reviewer talk about the books and not have to ‘read’ the reviews LOL. I’m embarassed to say I haven’t heard of any of these books. Currently, I’m reading “In Cold Blood”-Capote. I tend to fall back on classics. I will try one of your recommendations though. Maybe Queen of the Tearling. Thanks for the lovely book haul!

  8. OH MY GOSH! I am sooooo jealous >_<
you got "Four"! With a cookie?! AND a poster D:
    Can you feel my jealousy?
    Am I letting it show?
I'm totally letting my jealousy show..
Let me tell you. I've reading the last book to the trilogy and I am just on the edge of my seat waiting for this book to be released! You should totally go to Veronica Roth's book signing, though! I'm happy you got the book! And eagerly waiting for a review 😀

  9. Great haul! I really want to read Drift and The Queen of Tearling now!
