Stacking The Shelves (61) | Book Haul

Oh my goodness, only 2 more days until I go to New York City for BEA. I will be leaving Tuesday morning and will arrive right around dinner time. I absolutely cannot wait! Seriously, I would be excited about this trip even if books were not involved. It is the one time of year where I feel like I am surrounded by my people. This week was pretty good, it went by really fast and I was super busy and then came home and was super distracted. I did not finish any books during the Monday – Friday timeframe. I am okay with that. Not every week is going to be a READ ALL THE BOOKS week. I did, however, finish Infinite by Jodi Meadows today and started The Art Of Lainey by Paula Stokes. I love transitioning from fantasy to contemporary and vice versa. Onto the haul:

For Review:

The Homecoming by  Robyn Carr (Unsolicited) – I will be mailing this to Aisha as she’s generously offered to take any Robyn Carr books off my hands.

Blue Mountain by Martine Leavitt (Requested Review Copy) – I loved My Book Of Life By Angel by Martine Leavitt, and so, even though this is about bighorn sheep, I think it will be good.

Starry Night by Isabel Gillies (Requested Review Copy) – First off, the author is Eliott Stabler’s wife. Second off, the summary sounds intensely romantic.

Love And Other Foreign Words by Erin McCahan (Vine) – I picked this because it’s contemporary YA and sounded really cute.

Thorn Jack by Katherine Harbour (Vine) – I requested this one from Vine because I thought I would rather read a physical copy than an e-copy. Also, it looks AMAZING and it’s fantasy and adult. FYI this will be a drop at BEA.

The Cabinet of Curiosities by Various Authors (Unsolicited) – I am so stinking excited for this book! It’s all these short stories and sounds great.

The Gollywhopper Games: The New Champion by Jane Feldman (Unsolicited) – This is the second in a series I’ve never read. Hmmmm.

The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings (Unsolicited) – This is going to be awesome, I am so excited for it!

Meridian by Josin McQuein (Unsolicited) – I am super curious about this sequel!

  1. Fabulous books this week, April! I can’t wait to see what you think of The Murder Complex and Love and Other Foreign Words.

I hope to see you at BEA this week!

    Happy reading!

  2. looking forward to your thoughts for Meridian. I liked Arclight enough too, but apparently Meridian is BAD. That upsets me.

  3. Okay, so this haul was a combo of my favorite things – books and makeup! I have that boudoir palette from Too Faced. I like it. And talking about funny makeup names, did you know there are two blushes from Nars called – are you ready for this – Orgasm and Deep Throat. I am not even kidding!

I will be at BEA, and I am not at all prepared. I really haven’t got my days planned yet, but I’m going to try to do that on Monday. I think I need to make a spreadsheet. I’m definitely a list/spreadsheet/colorcoding lover.

  4. Have a super, fun, awesome time at BEA! I’m sad I can’t make it this year, but it’s fun to think back to last year and I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.

Awesome haul, especially Love and Other Foreign Words, I just adore the cover!
