Dewey Readathon Kick Off: Spring 2014

FYI reader loves, I will be updating a lot today, like 4 or so times, just a head’s up!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

drearly old Upstate New York, it’s kind of gray and rainy
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

This One Summer and Andre The Giant both are graphic novels from First Second and I could not be more excited to read them!

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

I just five minutes ago threw some chicken and buffalo marinade in the slow cooker, I literally cannot wait to eat it. Besides that, I’ve got Ben and Jerry just hanging out in my freezer.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

My name is April, I work for a non-profit as an advocate for victims of crimes such as domestic violence and sexual assault. I am often found with a glass of wine and a book in hand. I am a runner. I am terribly uncoordinated. I love the smell of meat just cooking in the crockpot. I laugh at the silliest things. Let’s be friends!

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

I always participate in readathons, with one exception and that was because I was knocking on death’s door hungover. That was the worst. Today though, I plan on staying up later than 11 p.m. I will not be an old! I will stay up like a youth! (I’m 26, so yeah kind of old?) I will make sure to drink water. I will have my audiobook ready to go with me so I can make the trip to the post office to pay my rent and also potentially go for another kind of short run outside, if it gets nicer out. I do plan on doing a few break things, like squats and half-cobra push ups to my audiobook. Besides that, maybe not get sucked into chattering on g-chat or twitter for hours. Also, at least one or two hours of comments while listening to my audiobook. Yay #teamrogue

About April (Books&Wine)

April is 30 years old and created Good Books And Good Wine. She works for a non-profit. April always has a book on hand. In her free time she can be found binge watching The Office with her husband and baby, spending way too much time on Pinterest or exploring her neighborhood.

Comments

  1. Go April! *\o/*

  2. I’ve never participated in the 24 hour readathon because it always falls on my Saturday to work! I know I could still sort of participate after work, but my brain isn’t in the game after working a Saturday.

But go, you! I’m sure you will be very successful. I love audiobooks, but I can’t listen to them while comment on other blogs. Or even reading other blogs because I can’t concentrate on either the blog or the book! So that’s awesome that you can do that.
