Stacking The Shelves (47)

We had this awesome snow day this week, like they told us the day before that the office would be closed and it was like oh snap I can stay up really late and sleep in and not have to worry about waking up early. It was kind of the best, y’all. I also began reading Moth And Spark by Anne Leonard and it’s this grown up fantasy book and lush and dense and I really like it even though it’s taking me awhile to make my time through. What are you reading? Anything out of your comfort zone? Now, for the books!

For Review:

The Kiss Of Deception by Mary Pearson

The Kiss Of Deception by Mary E. Pearson (Requested Review Copy) – YOU GUYS! As soon as I read the description I knew I needed to read this book. Fantasy, princesses, assassins and jilted lovers are totally my thing. AND THEN this came in an awesome shiny black mailer and there was one of those you are going to love this here’s why letters from Ksenia and let me tell you, when I finish a few of my obligations this is next. I am so excited for it.

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige ARC

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (Unsolicited Review Copy) – This one came in a shiny blue mailer and at first I was like what’s this package from Macmillan because shiny mailers are their calling card. AND THEN I OPENED IT and there’s this yellow brick road box and inside was a revolution letter and a gingham bow tied around the book and whatever I am so excited for this book. Like, I love all things Oz so yes, I am so going to read the heck out of this.

Fire by Sara Elfgren

Fire by Sara B. Elfgren and Mats Strandberg (Unsolicited Review Copy) – This is the second in a trilogy that I haven’t read, so I am not quite sure about it just yet. Also, it’s long. Reviews on goodreads of the first book are promising though. We shall see.

Into The Still Blue by Veronica Rossi

Into The Still Blue by Veronica Rossi (Unsolicited Review Copy) – As this is a second copy and I have a signed copy, I will be giving this one away when I am no longer lazy about setting up contests.

From Edelweiss/Netgalley

Noggin by John Corey Whaley – I am currently reading this one and quite enjoying it, even though the concept is weird. It’s good.
#scandal by Sarah Ockler – Looking forward to this as I haven’t met a book by Ockler that I don’t right.
Biggest Flirts by Jennifer Echols – Shanyn said this was good. I trust her.
The Last Forever by Deb Caletti – I just really love Deb Caletti’s books.
The Edge Of Falling by Rebecca Searle – I loved When You Were Mine and thus can’t wait for this.
The Queen Of The Tearling by Erika Johansen – Epic Reads tweeted a picture of this and then I read the goodreads summary and like begged and they said yes and yay! FANTASY!
The Good Luck Of Right Now by Matthew Quick – I might have burst with excitement over this!
On The Fence by Kasie West – I’ve heard West is a big deal, I totally need to read her books like next weekend or something. Kasie marathon.
Strange And Ever After by Susan Dennard – I still need to read the second book, but I loved the first one.
The Well’s End by Seth Fishman – AHHH! This is like sci-fi dystopia and I am excited. Also, I am on a blog tour for it.
The Chapel Wars by Lindsey Leavitt – I find Leavitt’s books so charming. Can’t wait to read this.
Open Road Summer by Emery Lord – ROAD TRIP BOOK.
The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier – I loved Peter Nimble And His Fantastic Eyes, so of course I would download this. OF COURSE.

  1. April, you’re going to love Kasie West. I promise you. If you binge read her books over the weekend it will be the most awesome reading weekend in history. And gah, I’m so jealous of everyone who got Dorothy Must Die. I requested it, so I hoooope I get it soon. Even though I’m a little wary of it because it’s Full Fathom Five and that burned me already this year with No One Else Can Have You.

  2. The I am so incredibly impressed with the packaging of Dorothy Must Die and I can’t wait to get my sticky little handies on it. Gimme gimme.

I have heard approximately NOTHING about Kiss of Deception so I’m now going to wait on the edge of my seat for the review!

  3. I only just heard of THE QUEEN OF TEARLING, but now it’s on my radar. I must have it! I can’t wait for you to read it, so I can see your thoughts on it too 🙂

  4. Sweet mercy, I am BEYOND jealous of you right now! This haul is so FANTASTIC I might DIE!

    *deep breath*

    *sigh*

There are only a few of these that I haven’t seen, but the rest are all on my TBR. Seriously, you are one lucky lady with all the beautiful booklings. Happy Reading!

  5. Great Haul!! I am still not sure about Dorthy Must Die..I’m torn..I need to see some reviews on this one. 🙂

  6. I thought the first book of the Engelsfors trilogy was decent but I didn’t love it, so I didn’t take the second book when they pitched it to me. I hope you have better luck with it! It’s just that I very rarely continue on with a series if I rate the first book 3 stars or less, and it was totes a 3 star book for me.

Man, I kind of wish I had gotten that Dorothy Must Die package.

Also, I am crossing my fingers they approve my request for Open Road Summer soon! I am like sitting on pins and needles. GAH.

  7. Such a great book haul! I love exciting book mail. The Kiss of Deception sounds like it’s right up your alley. And Dorothy Must Die looks so fun too. Love the packaging!

You totally scored with the e-galleys this week. I did a little happy dance when I got Open Road Summer and I’m crossing fingers for The Chapel Wars.

Glad to hear your’e liking Noggin. That book sounds so quirky and I’ve been curious about it.

    Have a great week, April!

  8. Ooo! You commented on my blog too early to notice, but I came home around eight pm and opened my week’s worth of packages (I live in the university, but come home on weekends to get my mail and do laundry and stuff hehe). I also got an ARC of The Kiss of Deception! I requested three Macmillan ARCs, and got two of them already, and that one is the third! EXCITED! And ooo, I can’t wait to read your review of Dorothy Must Die! I don’t know much about the book, but I’ll read what you think of it.

Thanks for visiting my blog, April! Hope you have an awesomesauce weekend and enjoy your upcoming three-day weekend! I wish I had one of those soon – Hopkins doesn’t close on Presiden’ts Day D: Oh well!

  10. Nice haul of books. I have heard really good things about Kiss of Deception and hope you really like it. Thanks for visiting me earlier.

  11. I saw you mention the cover of The Kiss of Deception on twitter so I looked it up, since it was new to me. Sounds so good! I immediately added to my TBR. The packaging for Dorothy Must Die is super cool. That’s one of my most anticipated 2014 releases so I hope you like it! YES to a Kasie marathon! I adore all of her books and just finished On the Fence last night. Wonderful family/sibling dynamic. Open Road Summer was amazing too! I hope you enjoy these!

  12. Oh, hey, April. Just me, sneaking into yo’ house for DOROTHY MUST DIE.

I’m looking for your thoughts on this one. I feel like, because I’m so excited about it, it’s going to be disappointing. DON’T LET ME DOWN, DOROTHY!

Also, I adored THE EDGE OF FALLING. I loved Serle’s first book too, but I think I loved this one more!!
