Stacking The Shelves (46)

I think this gym thing is becoming a nice habit with me. I’ve gone every day last week except Thursday and then today I did a blogilates video and you guys I am getting healthy and feeling so good. How are you all doing with your fitness goals? I know that has nothing to do with books or shelves, but it’s nice to chat and be supported. As for books, I made out like a bandit this week.

For Review:

STS 46-1

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (Requested Review Copy) – Listen here, I was up to my ears in jealousy over everyone with this book and I was like can’t stop can’t wait, so I put on my adult shoes and sent a request AND IT WORKED and I have read this book and it was worth the BEGGING. My review should be posting on Tuesday I think. I shifted things around just so I could talk about how much I love this book.
This Side Of Salvation by Jeri Smith-Ready (Requested Review Copy) – Ahhhhhh, this book is about grief and one of those Heaven-type cults, so you totally know this is an April book so I figured I might as well ask for this one too.
Thanks so much Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, you are the best EVER.

STS 46-2

Moment 14: Savage Drift by Emmy Laybourne (Requested Review Copy) – I just need to see how this series ends. I NEED TO KNOW YOU GUYS. I hope to be reading this soon-ish.
I Kill The Mockingbird by Paul Acampora (Requested Review Copy) – To Kill A Mockingbird is among my top five favorite books of all time so when I saw this in the catalog being offered up to me I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE IT OR BE SAD AND JEALOUS and so it is in my hands and you can expect me to read this soon. And that cover guys. I already prematurely love this book and will be devastated if my expectations are not met.

STS 46-3

Rebel by Amy Tintera (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I’ve got this from Edelweiss, but I do love actual hard copies so you can bet I will read this. It’s the sequel to Reboot and apparently it’s a duology which makes me happy so I will read this to encourage more duologies.
Split Second by Kasie West (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Confession: I still haven’t read Pivot Point. Do you think I’d like it?

STS 46-4

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children: The Graphic Novel by Ransom Riggs and Cassandra Jean (Accepted Review Copy) – I think I am going to read this soon to refresh myself before I readΒ The Hollow City. Oh my goodness do I love graphic novels.
Moth And Spark by Anne Leonard (Accepted Review Copy) – Usually I just ignore adult request emails but THIS ONE CONVINCED ME AND THAT COVER YOU GUYS AND GAME OF THRONES COMPARISON, also, I read a Viking-published book last year and loved it and I want to try more new things so yay. I actually plan on reading this one next week.

STS 46-5

The Geography Of You And Me by Jennifer E. Smith (Vine) – That cover, so blue, so right. Listen, I haven’t met a Jennifer E. Smith book I don’t like.
The Glass Casket by McCormick Templeman (Vine) – I haven’t heard anything about this cover, but the blurb sold me and I will always and forever love fairy tale elements.
Half Bad by Sally Green (Vine) – Guys, this cover is SILVER. Also, it’s about witches so I basically need to read it.It’s like a requirement for living.

I am feeling lazy so won’t go through mp3 audiobooks and ebooks.

What did you get this week? Link me to your haul!

  1. I’m seriously psyched to hear that you loved To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before! It’s one of my most anticipated contemporary YAs, and I can’t wait until I can get my hands on a copy. Looking forward to reading your review!

  2. Great books April! I’m almost done with Glass Casket and I am loving it—a perfect mix of fairy tale and horror!

  3. I LOVED MOTH & SPARK!! I just finished it — a standalone fantasy. Plus, gorgeous cover. A little slow in the beginning but stick with it. So good.

And, like you, I love hardcopies. I feel guilty accepting them, especially when there’s an ebook version floating about but I’m much more likely to read a physical book versus an ebook.

  4. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is on my wishlist. Hope you enjoy it!

  5. Great week in books! My post

  6. I want to read HB and GoYaM super bad! Hope you can stop by mine.

  7. Great haul! I hope you enjoy them.

    Check out our STS.

  8. Moth and Spark has a beautiful cover indeed. I hope you love your new books. They look amazing.

  9. I just marked a bunch of those books as to-read. Looks like an amazing line-up. I can’t resist fairy tales and good cover art πŸ™‚

Also, as a side note – way to go with the exercise! I started running regularly a few weeks ago and for the first time in my life I can run 3 miles without stopping πŸ˜€

  10. I cannot wait for that Jenny Han book. It’s in my amazon wishlist and I’ll be buying it as soon as it comes out! πŸ™‚ It really looks cute. Plus her Summer Series is one of my favs.

Also dying to get my hands on The Geography of Me and You! So many great books, so little time! <3

Hope you're having a great weekend! it's been above freezing here for once, heat wave! it's nice to step outside and not feel like your lungs are going to burst. πŸ™‚

  11. I’m glad that going to the gym and doing blogilates is working out for you! I’m actually one of those people who go to the gym pretty regularly – athlete and all O_O Fun stuff!

I definitely want to check out To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (I think that’s the title? It’s quite long and I feel like I invent a new one every time I type it, but I’m too lazy to scroll up and actually check. WOW.) I don’t read many contemporary novels anymore, but I really like the sound of that one πŸ˜€

And I really enjoyed Monument 14 when I read it in 2012 – but I never read Sky on Fire! I’ll have to catch up on that series D:

    Have a fabulous week, April!

    Check out my STS post!

  12. Nice reads! Happy Reading! If you’d like, you can stop by my STS Following your blog and would love a follow back please πŸ™‚

  13. I am DYING to read Rebel. Jealous! πŸ™‚

I just got an e-copy of Half Bad for review so I’ll be reading that one soon, love the concept.

I have been to the gym exactly… two times… this year so clearly my gym resolution is a big fat fail. Hoping to get on track for real this week!

  14. Wow, I’m a bit jealous that you have To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, but mostly SPLIT SECOND!! BECAUSE FEELINGS! So many feelings! Please read Pivot Point soon, it’s one of my favourite reads of 2013 and filled with alternate-reality goodness and THE BOY! And after you read the ending you’ll be happy you have Split Second nearby because UGH, it’s STILL killing me!

  15. I am sooooo excited for This Side of Salvation! It looks so unique and I just read a short story by the same author and I loved it.

Is it true that the ending of the new Jenny Han book was changed from the ARC to the final edit? I’ve been hearing things and that makes me nervous. I hate when they do that!

  16. Oh my gosh. So many beautiful contemporaries! Regarding Pivot Point, I think you’d like it? It’s a fast read, but it’s a really awesome idea. Plus, cute boys haha.

  17. AHHH! Split Second! Geography! BOOK JEALOUSY ALERT! You should totally read Pivot Point — I think you’d enjoy.

Oh, and did the same thing about the Jenny Han book. Same. Exact. Thing. Too funny!
