Stacking The Shelves (44)

While this past week wasn’t quite as nerve wracking as last week, it was majorly busy. Actually, it kind of flew by which I am totally grateful for as it’s a three day weekend. I’m about to finish reading Afterparty by Ann Redisch Stampler. I won’t lie, it took me a while to get into and I am constantly cringing, but I like it. I think this is also one of those Bloggiesta mini-weekends, so I am going to try and update some of my older reviews and schedule new ones — ALSO I am already up to April in my scheduled/completed reviews #humblebrag. Are any of you crazy ahead of schedule? Anyways! Tell me all about what you are reading and doing this weekend, inquiring minds want to know! Now for the books that I am sure you are dying to see.

For Review:

STS 44-1 Cruel Beauty Uninvited

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge (Unsolicited) – OMG, I just want to hug and pet this finished copy. As this is a second copy and I’ve got an ARC, you can expect a giveaway, TOMORROW.
Uninvited by Sophie Jordan (Unsolicited) – So, my phone kept flipping the photo over because of the hair on the model. LOL. Anyways, this is my third copy and I am still excited to read this despite a lackluster experience with Hidden. Expect Uninvited  to be a part of tomorrow’s giveaway.

STS 44-2 The Secrets of Lily Graves and Free To Fall

The Secrets Of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer (Unsolicited) – This book looks so short and interesting and there is murder and I can’t wait. I think I am going to read it this weekend so I can include it in my giveaway! What do you guys think of that plan?
Free To Fall by Lauren Miller (Unsolicited) – I think this book might be a standalone and not a sequel to Parallel which I totally need to read. Either way, I am sadly behind on my reading but also really excited about this book about THE FUTURE.

STS 44-3 Talker 25 and Royally Lost ARCs

Talker 25 by Joshua McCune (Unsolicited) – Future dragons and the military? Yo, sign me up right this minute I am beyond excited for this debut.
Royally Lost by Angie Stanton (Unsolicited) – I actually really love Stanton’s books for when I need something light, sweet and fun. Can’t wait to read this contemporary!

STS 44-4 Sweet Reckoning and Mila 2.0 Renegade ARCs

Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins (Unsolicited) – I’ve never read any of the Sweet Evil books. Do you guys think I would like them?
Mila 2.0: Renegade by Debra Driza (Unsolicited) – I’ve yet to read the first book, but I did buy the ebook of it. Methinks I will have to read it now.

STS 44-5 Second Star ARC

Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel (Requested Review Copy) – OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED — this book sounds like a contemporary retelling of Peter Pan which F yes, because I’ve had great luck with Peter Pan retellings.

From Edelweiss/Netgalley – because I am lazy, I’m just going to paste goodreads images, you can click the pictures for more information

  1. APRILLLL. I am so excited for you to read Cruel Beauty. Like you have no idea. And I’m really, really excited for Free to Fall and Renegade. I sent in a review request for that a week or two ago, so I’ll be crossing my fingers. BUT CRUEL BEAUTY, APRIL. CRUEL BEAUTY.

  2. Awesome haul. Harper Teen books are great. I like the covers for these books. So many great books. Come visit me as well.

  3. Ooo, April, what a lovely haul! That’s so cool that you have received two copies of Cruel Beauty. I read that one and really enjoyed it! Same with Uninvited – I didn’t expect to enjoy that book (given that I did NOT like Jordan’s Firelight series), but I actually really liked Uninvited! I cannot WAIT to read Talker 25! And I also got an ARC of Second Star – my first Macmillan ARC! I have The Vanishing Season from Edelweiss, and an ARC of The Art of Lainey.

And now that I’ve finished typing all of that, I realize that I have a long way to go before I’m free to re-read a couple series that I wanted to re-read. Whoops O_O

    Have a fantastic weekend!

    Check out my STS post!

  4. I haven’t read any of Sophie Jordan’s other books, but I can vouch that Uninvited is amazing! I’m looking forward to Second Star too, because I had a crush on cartoon Peter Pan when I was a little girl.

  5. Cruel Beauty AND Uninvited!! Awesome! I’m very jealous of those two. Yummy! Happy reading.

  6. I’m so jealous of Second Star and Cruel Beauty. I hope they’re as amazing as they sound! My STS

  7. Yay! You have so many awesome books here! I really loved Reboot and am SO looking forward to Rebel. I have Mila 2.0 on my stack this week. Really excited for it. 🙂 My StS!

  8. That’s a beautiful haul! I love that you are actually getting ‘real’ books for ARCs. Since I don’t live in the US, that never happens to me. Those covers are gorgeous!

I hope you’ll love them all, April 🙂

  9. So so so many awesome reads you’ve got there! I’ve had my eye on pretty much all of them.. I may have an addiction. 🙂

  10. Wow great haul! I’ve got a couple of these myself and can’t wait to read them. There’s also quite a few on here that I am still dying to read. I hope you enjoy your books! My STS 🙂

  11. I’m SO excited for Cruel Beauty and Uninvited! I loved Lauren Miller’s Parallel, so I’m definitely curious about Free to Fall! Second Star looks interesting!

I still need to read Reboot! I want to read it soon because Rebel looks awesome!

    Happy reading!

  12. Oh my goodness, you have some good books here. I cannot wait to read The Uninvited, as well as the second Mila 2.0 book (I LOVED the first one). I felt the same way when I got Second Star this week. Peter Pan retellings are awesome and especially so when it’s a contemporary version. Have fun reading all these books!
