#HolidayReadathon Challenge

Update: The Winner is Readerly Musings. And omg you guys I totally regret not using Rafflecopter. Also, sorry for taking a week to pick a winner.

Hey y’all, so when Liza at Who R U Blog asked me to host a challenge for her annual Holiday Readathon, I got really excited because I enjoy this readathon, there are portions that are for a good cause and hello the holidays and challenges! Of course I was pumped.

My challenge is super easy — just tell me your favorite Christmas Carol in the comments. You can get as specific as you want i.e. White Christmas as performed by Bing Crosby or as general soooo, White Christmas or The Hanukkah Song by Adam Sandler. It is entirely up to you.

FYI, mine totally changes every day. I think right now it’s All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey because I have this thing for belting songs really loud.

OH AND BONUS, I have a prize pack for one lucky winner that I will randomly pick from the comments. US only because it’s the holiday season and I legit cannot afford to ship abroad. I will email the winner on Monday, I will ship before Christmas (my schedule precludes me from going to the post office during the week). ALSO YOU GUYS please do not type your email in your comment, I will have your email from the little box after you type your name. No need to tell the world and the spammers your email address.

  1. Favorite Christmas Carol. I LOVE the Trans-Siberean Orchestra- Good King Joy. I’ve been to several of their concerts and they are AMAZING!

  2. Beverly Archer says

My favorite changes every day (just like my favorite book is based on my mood when you ask me). I love White Christmas by Bing Crosby and I love Carol of the Bells. I’ll stop there or I might be typing forever.

  3. Favorite Christmas carol, hands down, What Child Is This? Mostly because it’s to the tune of Greensleeves which I’m a total nerd about. 🙂

  4. I have a few favorite Christmas songs: Christmas Shoes, Merry Christmas Baby by Hanson, Oh Holy Night, and Mary Did you know.

    – Beckie
    Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  5. A Great Big Sled by The Killers

  6. My favorite Christmas song is Snoopy’s Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen, because it is adorable and hilarious.

  7. It’s hard for me to pick just one song. I love Christmas music and pretty much listen to it all year round lol. I love any version of Baby, It’s Cold Outside, for the past few years the She and Him Christmas album has been a favorite of mine too.

  8. Ok, I was going to say All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, but since you’ve already said it, I suppose I’ll have to think of another one. I also really like Believe by Josh Groban from The Polar Express (I even played it for a piano recital once!).

  9. I listen to a TON of Christmas music, so this is actually legitimately difficult for me to decide. I’d probably go with O Holy Night, as it’s done on NSYNC’s Christmas album, because that song always gives me chills when I listen to it!

(P.S. No need to include me in the giveaway! I just wanted to share a song for you!)

  10. I’m really loving Carol Of The Bells by Pentatonix. I love A Capella and their rendition is awesome!

  11. All I Want For Christmas Is You is also one of my favorites! Christmas is All Around by Billy Mack and Angels We Have Heard on High by Andrea Bocelli are some of my favorites too 😀

    Not USA 🙁

  12. I love Carol of the Bells. We sang it every year in choir and it has such a great arrangement.

  13. “There’s a new kid in town” as sung by Billy Gilman

  14. I love all Christmas songs to be honest, but some of my favorites would have to be White Christmas, Do You Hear What I Hear?, and I’ll Be Home for Christmas!

  15. kai charles (Fiction State of Mind) says

I love the song The 12 Days of Christmas! I even named my holiday event after it: 12 Days 🙂

  16. All I want for Christmas is a classic! Besides the one you mentioned I love Tell me a Story sang by Hilary Duff. New Favorite Snow in California sang by Ariana Grande. But honestly I love all Christmas music ( I have a playlist every year).

  17. I have to admit that I almost cry every time I hear Christmas Shoes but it’s still one of my favorites. Also, I can totally go with the other commenter that mentioned Nsync’s Christmas album. I loved them! 🙂

  18. Am I allowed to say that I love every song on the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation soundtrack? Because every song played during that movie makes me think of Christmas and my family. 🙂 I especially like “Holiday Road” by Lindsey Buckingham.

  19. Hands down, I love Carol of the Bells. I love all of the versions of it. I cannot get over this song. It is like the bad boy boyfriend you just can’t break up with.

  20. Okay, so I’m not participating in this readathon so I’m not sure if I should be entered into the contest but I just had to share my favorite Christmas song because I love it so much!

I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!! It’s silly and funny and just totally awesome. But close behind are All I Want for Christmas is You, and Baby It’s Cold Outside (I really like the Glee version!)

  21. Winter Wonderland is one of my favorites.
Thanks for the chance to win!

  22. It’s not really a carol – but Trans-siberian Orchestra’s Sarajevo is my favorite Christmas song.

  23. I love Must Be Santa by Mitch Miller and the Gang. Had the cassette tape as kid and now I have the CD!

  24. jingle bells

  25. I’ll be home for Christmas. Do emotional.

  26. Thanks for the giveaway

Fav Carol: Sweet Little Jesus Boy.

its religious but my boss`s mother sings it like an angel 🙂

  27. Mine would have totally been All I Want by Mariah Carey but the other day I heard Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton and I almost died from the feels!!

  28. Hi April! *waves* I am not a big Christmas carol person so do not laugh at me when I say…. Feliz Navidad. Yup… its upbeat and I love to look ridiculous driving down the road bellowing it out and “car dancing”. 🙂

    Gosh… hope that counts 🙂

Great giveaway… the books are drool worthy!

  29. My mom bought Brad Paisley’s holiday CD last year and to this day I still get a laugh from the last track on the CD -The Compo Buckaroos! When three guys get together and make fun of people wanting to take “Christ” out of the Holidays… seriously, what could go wrong?!

    -Jordan

  30. I also love All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, but last year I discovered a wonderful variation on the tune by Michael Buble. I definitely recommend you check it out.

Thanks for the challenge and giveaway!

  31. My favorite Christmas song would have to be Silent Night by Garth Brooks. Although, I do enjoy Straight No Chaser’s Twelve Days of Christmas (the live version).

And one cannot forget You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Don’t know why, but that song is one that mus be heard at least once a December. =)

  32. By far, Silent Night. A classic!!!!

  33. My favorite carol right now is Little Drummer Boy- Pentatonix… my non traditional favorite is What’s This?- Danny Elfman

  34. Betsy Kaplan says

Favorite holiday song is White Christmas! Thx!

  35. I am partial to “Silent Night” but as a kid I always loved “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”…I thought it was hilarious! Thanks for the giveaway and happy reading!

  36. I will forever and ever love Frosty the Snowman. Though I do also love It’s a Marshmallow World. Anything pertaining to snow, really 😀

  37. I’m a child of the TRL glory days, so I have to go with “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by N Sync. Sorry, I can’t help myself! 🙂

  38. I agree with the Mariah Carey classic but I also love singing Silent Night in church on Christmas eve. We do this whole thing with candles and it’s just beautiful!
