Stacking The Shelves (37)

For some odd reason, there isn’t a whole lot going on in my life this weekend. I worked a shift at our local Pumpkin Festival last night and have been taking it easy today. I also have plans to take it easy tomorrow. It’s awesome having a quiet weekend where I can just curl up with my books and my computer. I am not sure about you guys, but sometimes those weekends are totally ideal. Anyways, enough about being a hermit and on to the books!

For Review:

One Direction: Where We Are – One Band, One Story 100% Official by One Direction (Unsolicited) – LOL. I am donating this one to an organization at work that distributes books to encourage literacy among low income families. I am positive there will be one family that has a kid that’s a Directioner, and I am ALL about encouraging literacy, even with books that I have zero interest in reading.

Tin Star by Cecil Castellucci (Requested Review Copy) – I loved Castellucci’sĀ First Day On Earth, so I just had to obtain this book and am beyond excited to read it!

Cress by Marissa Meyer (Requested Review Copy) – Of course, I fricken screamed when I opened this book because I feel like I have been waiting forever for it and omg you guys I can’t wait to meet Cress!!

The Outside by Laura Bickle (Amazon Vine) – Hell yes, Amish and Vampires part two. CANNOT WAIT. Also, requested this despite having an egalley because the egalley was not Kindle formatted and I just dislike reading on my computer screen.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (Amazon Vine) – Figured I’d rather read a print copy than an ebook. Also, Rainbow Rowell is the best. TESTIFY.

Kinslayer by Jay Kristoff (Amazon Vine) – I seriously have all the luck and am excited I was able to get my hands on this sequel.

From Netgalley:

Going Rogue by Robin Benway – Ahhhhhh, spy thriller and Also Known As sequel! So excited my friends, so excited!
Far From You by Tess Sharpe – This is a young adult about a girl who has nearly died twice and was almost murdered and it’s like a mystery. It just sounds great. It releases April 2014.

Audiobook Digital Editions:

Frozen by Melissa De La Cruz and Michael Johnston (audiobook) – I grabbed this audiobook because it just seems like a good call to listen to the book and decrease my TBR that way.
QB1 by Mike Lupica (audiobook) – I’ve listened to and typed my review of this book. It’s scheduled to go up later this month — I liked it for the most part.

  1. Nice haul of books this week. You are so lucky to get Cress. Cress sounds awesome. I like the covers for that series. You got some very nice books. I crave those kinds of weekends as well.

  2. Those all sound interesting. I will check back for your review on Fan Girl and Going Rogue. I’m hankering for a great thriller/mystery but it is not something I usually read so I would love to read your review. I just love the kind of weekend you’ve described. I’m having one of those, too.

  3. Oh, I can’t wait to read Cress! I hope you enjoy all your books this week šŸ™‚

  4. I am seeing Fangirl everywhere, I must get this book!!! Hope you enjoy all your books.

  6. That’s awesome that you’re donating that One Direction book! And Cress! Woot, woot! I still can’t believe how much I love that series because science fiction isn’t generally a genre I like.

Oh and FANGIRL! Yes, Rainbow Rowell is the best!

I just going Going Rogue on Netgalley yesterday, and requested it. I hope I’m approved soon.

Anyway, enjoy your totally awesome, relaxing weekend. Those kinds of weekends are my favorite!

Oh, are you planning on going to the Maggie Stiefvater event in Rhinebeck on October 27th?

  7. That’s a lot of books. I’d die, crushed under my TBR pile if I got that many, but you’re hardier and obviously more enthused than I am. lol

  8. I have to read Fangirl.

    Happy reading.

  9. I agree that Rainbow Rowell is the best, but we don’t have physical copies of the book locally yet, so I grabbed an eBook copy. I liked the story, hope you do, too.

  10. SUPER jealous about Cress – I’m seeing that all over a lot of blogs this week! I can’t wait for that book! I was so excited when I saw Going Rogue up on netgalley! I absolutely loved Also Known As so that was REALLY exciting.

You’ve got a GREAT selection of books there (minus the One Direction one lol) – so enjoy ’em! šŸ™‚

    Here’s my haul

  11. ALL of the awesome books! How pumped are you for Cress? It’s going to kill me to not read it as soon as I have my hands on it!

  12. Yay! The Outside!! I hope you love that one. šŸ™‚ I didn’t think it was as spooky as the first book in the series, but it was still really, really good.

And you’re not keeping the One Direction book?!??!? I’m sure it’s full of AWESOME!

Ha ha … just kidding. That’s good you can donate it somewhere!

    Have a good week!

  13. So many bloggers getting Cress this week! So exciting!

  14. I have no words for the amount of jealousy I have. You got Cress! I hope it’s amazing. Enjoy all your new reads!

  15. I would love to hear what you thought of FANGIRL, April. I fell hard for it.

  16. OMG APRIL! I’m so glad that you got Cress! I personally did not, but then, I read but never reviewed Cinder, and never read Scarlet. So, it wouldn’t make sense for me to get an ARC! I would give it to someone anyway, because I probably won’t finish the series.

And OMG I LOVED FANGIRL! I read it right before I went to college (as a freshman, six weeks ago), and it was perfect timing, because that was EXACTLY what I needed to read, the day before I moved in šŸ˜€

Anyway. Have an awesome week, lady!

    Check out my STS post!

  17. nice haul, hope you can visit my Stacking the Shelves

  18. Yay for The Outside! I just recently read The Hallowed Ones and I loved it so much. I’ll definitely be buying that one soon. šŸ™‚
