Bout Of Books 8.0 – Let’s Do This

Y’all, it’s the time of year I love best — BOUT OF BOOKS TIME! Actually, I just love any readathon. Anyways, I found out that I am totally not too late to join the party and so, after work and dinner I finished my very first Bout Of Books read today — The Beginning Of Everything by Robyn Schneider. AND I also ended up writing my review immediately after finishing. Yay productivity!

What’s Bout Of Books you say?

From the official website:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I think my favorite part of every Bout Of Books is choosing a pile of books to read, and you guys my pile has me filled to the brim with excitement.

Bout Of Books Pile

The list:

  • Across A Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund 450 pages, omg starting this RIGHT after I type this post.
  • The Infinite Moment Of Us by Lauren Myracle 318 pages, lots of great reviews
  • Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone 373 pages, Allison wants it when I am done, so it’s up to the top of my pile
  • Out Of This Place by Emma Cameron 402 pages, Aussie book in verse
  • The Watcher In The Shadows by Chris Moriarty 326 pages, awesome illustrations and a unique MG sequel
  • The Sweetest Thing by Christina Mandelski 337 pages, I can’t stop looking at the cover, plus this is long overdue
  • The Chaos Of Stars by Kiersten White 277 pages, this one’s short with a cool cover
  • Thou Shalt Not Road Trip by Antony John 329 pages, this was gifted by Shanyn and it’s been sitting on my shelf for an embarrassing amount of time

  1. Oops! I forgot to sign up for this! I have been reading all day so hopefully that will count.

I loved Across a Star-Swept Sea and think it is a great book to read for a read-a-thon. I hope you will love it too! Good luck with your goals and I hope you have fun.

  2. I’m going to be Austen in August-ing my ass off, so I have to skip this Bout. But Across a Star-Swept Sea and The Chaos of Stars are both on my post-Austen list. Can’t wait to dig in!

    Good luck with your stack!

  3. Good luck with the read-a-thon! I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Across A Star-Swept Sea. I always read your reviews and I have that book on my TBR list. Sounds like a good one.

  4. You can do it! Good luck with your reading goals and I hope you have a lot of fun 🙂

  5. You’ve a great pile there! I can’t participate in the read-a-thon because I have too much school work to do and all I need is a flimsy excuse not to do it! Lol!

I’m 100% behind your reward though – I have the UBB and it’s so fantastic! So I’m more than happy to cheer you on to your finish line 😀

  6. I’m not doing this readathon, but I just wanted to say that I just started the Antony John (love him) and I’m enjoying it!

  7. Blast! I am not doing Bout of Books this round and I”m super jealous of all of the book stacks I’m seeing.

    Enjoy!

  8. I’ll be curious to see what you think of Myracle’s The Infinite Moment of Us…. I posted my review today, and its not exactly positive.

But I love Bout of Books and glad you’ve joined in the fun!

  9. It looks like you’ve got some great books in the stack! Remember – the most important thing is that you HAVE FUN!

  10. GOOOO, APRIL!

  11. Encouragement: ** YOU CAN DO IT! ** (pompoms twirling)
