Stacking The Shelves (35)

Hey reader friends, it’s been such awhile since I’ve done a Stacking The Shelves, but it’s been a really great few weeks regarding new books! I’ve actually been doing this thing where when a book comes in the mail, I actually read it within a reasonable time frame. I know, crazy. Anyways, things are finally starting to calm down. I am actually home for once during the weekend instead of off doing busy people things, so it’s nice to finally catch up on writing reviews and reading books. Here’s what has been added to my stacks!

For Review:

Divergent and Insurgent on Audio and This Will Save Your Life

Books for my listening pleasure! YAY!

Divergent by Veronica Roth audiobook (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Soooo, I loved Divergent when I read it and I am actually really excited to re-read it via audio. I love Emma Galvin.
Insurgent by Veronica Roth audiobook (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Ditto. Ditto.
This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales mix CD (Unsolicited) – Cannot wait to rock out to this awesome mix while driving around.

The Paradox Of Vertical Flight book

The Paradox of Vertical Flight by Emil Ostrovski (Unsolicited Review Copy) – This is a debut novel published by Greenwillow and all about four people going to one character’s grandmother’s house. Apparently the blurb compares it to John Green. My mind is open, y’all.

Unbreakable Kami Garcia Swag Pack

Unbreakable by Kami Garcia swag pack (Unsolicited) – Apparently that little bag is filled with salt? I don’t know what the hell I am going to do with a bag of salt, probably cook with it.

The Butterfly Sister and A Little Too Far Books

The Butterfly Sister by Amy Gail Hansen (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I am keeping an open mind about this book as it is blurbed by Meg Cabot and sometimes I like grown up books.
A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers (Unsolicited Review Copy) – I actually opened this packages and then started singing ‘sexytimes sexytimes sexytimes’ at this book, because I am nothing if not mature. Also, I am pumped up for this.

Rock And A Hard Place and Snapshot Angie Stanton books

Rock And A Hard Place by Angie Stanton (Unsolicited Review Copy) – You guys I cannot even pretend like I won’t read the shit out of this book based on the cover. SO EXCITED.
Snapshot by Angie Stanton (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Again, I will read the hell out of this book, hello guitar, water, couple THIS IS A ME SORT OF BOOK.

How To Love and Descendant Books

How To Love by Katie Cotungo (Unsolicited Review Copy) – This book is the story of a couple falling in love twice according to the press release, so I am really excited for it and will read it when I need a good contemporary.
Descendant by Lesley Livingston (Unsolicited Review Copy) – Apparently this is the sequel to Starling which I have not read yet. I’ll get to it eventually.

Find Me and Not A Drop To Drink books

Find Me by Romily Bernard (Unsolicited Review Copy) – The reviews for this one are good, so I want to read it soon!
Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGinnis (Unsolicited Review Copy) – One of my blogging buddies read this dystopian book and really liked it, and I trust their judgment so I will be moving this up on the pile.

From Edelweiss and Netgalley:

Pretty Sly by Elisa Ludwig – I liked Pretty Crooked and am looking forward to this sequel!
Warrior by Ellen Oh – Again, I actually liked Prophecy even though pretty much everyone else I know disliked it. That happens.
Fake ID by Lamar Giles – YA about witness protection? FYEAH!
House Of Ivy & Sorrow by Natalie Whipple – YAYYYY FANTASY!
Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd – Oh my gosh you guys after the insanity of The Madman’s Daughter, I legit cannot wait to dive into this one.
Elusion by Claudia Gabel and Cheryl Klam – While I think the cover is totally ridiculous and reminds me of those really cheesy 90s photos with the fantasy backgrounds, the concept seems legit.
Perfect Lies by Kiersten White – Seeing as how I have Mind Games on my TBR, I figured I might as well read this one too.
All That Glows by Ryan Graudin – This book looks like some awesome fantasy but with fairies. So, it could go either way.
The Lure by Lynne Ewing – Love this cover, also gritty contemporary always appeals to me.
Almost Super by Marion Jensen – This book looks so cute omg. I LOVE MIDDLE GRADE.
No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale – I fricken love the ugly sweater cover AND OMG THE PREMISE, I will forever and always read murder mystery books.
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge – Beauty And The Beast retelling, so of course I have zero resistance.
Great by Sara Benicasa – Contemporary retelling of The Great Gatsby, fuck yes.
Uninvited by Sophie Jordan – Y’all, I love Sophie Jordan’s books! I am excited to read this one.
Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens – This contemporary book sounds so emotional.
Avalon by Mindee Arnett – Mobster sci fi, I am down.
Maybe One Day by Melissa Kantor – A contemporary book about loss. Love it.
Dear Killer by Katherine Ewell – Dexter comparison!
The Promise Of Amazing by Robin Constantine – Oh god, that cover. CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE GET ON MY EREADER.
Ask Again Later by Liz Czukas – Prom book! Yay!
If I Ever Get Out Of Here by Eric Gansworth – YA historical fiction featuring a main character who happens to be a Native American, set in the 1970s.
The Boy On The Bridge by Natalie Standiford – I’ve never read a book by Standiford, but people I trust love her, so I am pumped.
The Outside by Laura Bickle – Friends, I am pumped up for this sequel.
Helen And Troy’s Epic Road Quest by A. Lee Martinez – FYA gave this a positive review.
In The Age Of Love And Chocolate by Gabrielle Zevin – Wahh this isn’t Kindle formatted. Oh well, I am looking forward to reading the conclusion to this trilogy.

  1. I’m still waiting on all of those Edelweiss books! I really want them ALL! You have some other awesome books, like Unbreakable. I loved Find Me, so I hope you do as well, Romily is sooooo nice!

    My Haul

  2. This Song Will Save Your Life looks really good! I should probably check it out since I pretty much like ALL books that involve music. 🙂

    Enjoy all the books!

  3. Great group of books.

  4. I just got my friend to read Divergent, and she is so quick to judge on YA books but she loved it!! I may have to reread it too before the movie comes out.

  5. Nice haul. I like the message for Unbreakable. You got some really good books this week. I hope you enjoy your new reads. Come visit me as well.

  6. Okay so there are soooo many of your books that I am insanely envious of. Elusion
    How to Love
    The Promise of Amazing
    Perfect Lies
    Dear Killer

  7. So many awesome books, I don’t know where to start. How about I’ll start by saying I hope they approve my requests soon as well! Will be looking forward to your reviews on these books! Have a great week!

  8. Oh yeah, those Angie Stanton books caught my eye. They look like my kind of book.

Enjoy all your goodies and happy reading 🙂

  9. Haha, I grabbed all the edelweiss books too. SO GOOD!

Hopefully you enjoy The Paradox of Vertical Flight more than I did. I didn’t even get halfway through before abandoning it. Pretension out the ass, an MC who’s totally okay with stealing his newborn + leaving him in a sink in a public restroom for a bit was too much. I really wanted to love it, but couldn’t get through to the good (??) parts. I’m really hoping you have a better time with it than I did.

  10. The cover of find me is so creepy and fantastic! Love it! I’m also going to have to admit that I cracked up laughing when I read your comment about the salt. Happy reading week!

  11. Holy moly do you have a haul of AWESOME here! I’m very jealous! WOW! Especially Uninvited and Unbreakable! Very cool! Happy reading all of these fabulous books!

  12. I grabbed a lot of those Edelweiss books as well. And I’m glad to see someone else who enjoyed Prophecy!

I am super jealous of A Little Too Far though. I know I’m supposed to be on a list for it, but haven’t heard anything since. I’m kind of hoping it’ll be at my parents’ house when I get there and then I take those sexy times to the beach.

  13. Gah! *falls over dead at the audio versions of Divergent and Insurgent* I love those books and can’t wait until the third comes out in October!

Enjoy your books and have a great week!

  14. I’m so jealous of your mix CD, I adored This Song Will Save Your Life soo much! Fabulous haul, hope you enjoy!
