15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Day 11

Have you guys been hit by a heat wave as well? I swear it is so hot that it’s hard to sit here and function as opposed to lying on the floor in front of a fan. I envy those of you who have air conditioning! Anyways, today’s prompt is all about showing off and I do enjoy doing that quite a bit. How about you? This post is part of a 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge that I started because I was feeling burnt out and then inspired. Check out the challenge here.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

Show Off! 5 of your best blog posts!

It’s hard to narrow it down to five and then when I do narrow, I am like, damn I hope that one is good enough, will people like it? AHHH. I swear, I am neurotic.

‘Relax It’s Not A Competition’

I love, love, love this post because it constantly reminds me to calm the fuck down. Blogging is great and all, but it is not something to go all Hunger Games over. Also, I just really love the corgi GIF.

Do Whatever The Fuck You Want

In which I get all heated up and passionate and filled with swears, also a Ron Swanson GIF, I love this post because it is a reminder that I should not care what other people are doing, but instead focus on my own stuff instead of pointing out the flaws with others. It’s not always something I am the best at.

The Girl Of Fire And Thorns review

That one time I declared my UNDYING love for Rae Carson’s books and waved my fantasy fangirl card in the air like I just don’t care and rambled on about the desert and Elisa and OMG OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK READ IT NOW.

For Darkness Shows The Stars review

I love this review because I think it perfectly encapsulates my feelings of love for Peterfreund’s book. I just, I had a literal bursting of emotions while reading it and like to think my review reflects what I felt at the time.

Taking Chances review

At 2,265 words, this is the longest review I have ever written. I hold absolutely NOTHING back in the review, so do not click if you do not like swears. Seriously, I warned you. Anyways, I go back every now and then and crack up over the review because I amuse myself. No GIFs though, because that would be over the top.

  1. I LOVE your “Do whatever the fuck you want” post. People always try to direct other people in what they should do on their blog, without realizing that its THEIR blog. As a smaller blog, that irritates the crap out of me. “You’ll get more hits/followers if you do this instead of this” What if that’s not what I want to do? My blog represents ME and MY love for books. Not what’s popular. *end rant* lol Sorry, I just hear that ALL the time!

  2. I just need to thank you for putting together this challenge. Though I *cheated* by combining days (or maybe I was just doing whatever the fuck I wanted ;p) it really has been great to take the time to remind myself why I love blogging. I don’t have, nor do I want, a huge blog. I blog because I love books and I love talking to other people who love books. Participating in this challenge has been the most fun I’ve had blogging in a while.

  3. I lvoe the mix of reviews and discussion posts – especially “Relax.” All I can say is AMEN!

  4. I love the two discussion posts you choose. I remember reading them when you first posted them. I do think that its unfair that some bloggers are very judgmental of others. It’s one thing to say what you like or don’t like about blogs, its another thing to single out a particular blogger and prove to the internet why they’re wrong in what they do…and I’ve seen it done.

  5. I love your “Relax, It’s NOT A Competition” and “Do Whatever The Fuck You Want” posts. And I love the corgis too.

And love your review for THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS! I did not mind the slow beginning and you were so right, Rome was NOT built in a day. That worldbuilding set the stage for the beginnings of something awesome.

And I so want to peek at your FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS but it’s going to be one of my next reads so I’ll have to come back to it.

Great choices for your top five! And you are definitely not neurotic. Unless, of course, I am and can’t tell, which is very possible. But yeah this was a totally challenging post day!

  6. I really enjoyed your Relax It’s Not A Competition post, it’s a very honest, and truth be told, many of us have felt some if not all of those things in one point of our blogging life. It takes a very strong person to admit all those publicly.

Keep up the great work, I absolutely love your blog! I’m so glad I found it, and I wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t for this awesome challenge.

  7. I have to say, I started following you at the beginning of this challenge and I love your posts. Discussion, reviews, whatevs. You definitely do your own thing and it totally works for you. Love the discussion posts. I haven’t read the books yet and I’m hoping to read them soon so I can’t read the reviews.

  8. It makes me so happy that you were able to include your review for For Darkness Shows the Stars! I absolutely adored that book, and I know you did too.
