  1. April, I am cracking up at the video. “I don’t know you, maybe you are dirty and disgusting.”

  2. The dirty and disgusting rant lmfao

  3. Ginger @ GReads! says

I’m at work right now, so I can’t watch your video.. but I’m sure it’s hilarious & lovely 😉 Seeing the books you have mentioned… I, too, plan to read Altered this month per Anna’s recommendation.

  4. Ha, you dress up for vlogs. I’ve totally done them in PJs. :-p

Watching tv and gorging on food sounds like what I do with my time!

Oooh, the audio sounds so awesome for Personal Effects! I won a physical copy that never showed up, so I’ll see if I can track down the audio.

The Spindlers: I liked it, but it could have been better. It was three stars for me. The characters didn’t work for me. Oh well.

Ha, cleaning! That’s the only way I get things cleaned: audiobooks.

    “She’s awesome, but she’s not a gangster.” <–bahahahaha
"My brain is not that much different than a 4th grader's brain."

I've read SO many of these books. Weird! 9 of them!

    Woo! Everbound! You're so funny!

  5. First of all, you are hilarious. I found myself cracking up quite a bit!

I love this idea. Unfortunately, I do 90% of my reading on my Kindle, so like you said, doing one of these would be incredibly boring! lol

I LOVE the bookshelves behind you. I love the look of books on a shelf, but I prefer reading on my Kindle, and I don’t have a lot of space in my apartment. But I love to look at them! Maybe I should wallpaper my house with pictures of bookcases. lol

Just watching this, though, makes me think you should have done a vlog for your review of Taking Chances! lol

  6. Girl, you are TOO CUTE! Loved your vlog! I kept having to pause it to add books to Goodreads and check the library to see if they have some of them! I really really hope you love Something Strange and Deadly. I adored it and c’mon… ZOMBIES! Zombies FTW! Anyway… looking forward to your thoughts on many many of these and can’t wait to see next month’s vlog!

  7. Ohmygosh, I loved your vlog! You’re little side rants are hilarious 🙂 You have a ton of great books for January. I can’t wait to read The Madman’s Daughter, Falling for You, and of course Through the Ever Night. I hope you like Something Strange and Deadly! I thought it was made of win.

  8. LOL you’re so funny!
Also, I’m very much like you in that I keep looking at myself when I’m recording so I end up looking away a lot of the time lol.

The audiobook cover for Frankenstein is very good! I like it.

Good luck with your bout of books 😀

  9. April, you are ADORABLE. I enjoyed watching your vlog, tangents and all, because it was so entertaining! Loved it, and cannot wait for more!

I totally agree that you can sneak in reading time (whether print or audiobook) when you’re doing other things, ESPECIALLY waiting in lines or for laundry to be done…

Also, on the TBR list for January…

Personal Effects sounds very intriguing, and I think I’ve seen it around before. But it sounds like you really like it, which makes me think I will too!

Scent of Magic was really good! At least, to me, it was. I know people had issues with it and there’s a distinct lack of romance, but it’s still a great addition.

So jealous you have Prophecy! I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy, even though I’ve been seeing that people feel just okay about it.

I’ve been meaning to read Something Strange & Deadly too, but I have no idea when that’s going to happen…

The Madman’s Daughter! I’m totally looking forward to that one, because it sounds BRILLIANT.

I really liked Asunder! It was a good second book, and I really want my own copy now after you reminded me…

    Happy reading! 🙂

    • Thank you! I totally do tangents in real life all the time too, I probably need to be medicated or something for that hahahaha.

Oh my gosh, I ALWAYS, ALWAYS sneak in reading time. That’s how I get it all done. Like, there’s an audio in my car right now and I probably drive for a total of an hour each day Monday-Friday so that’s at least two audiobooks listened to during the month.

I’m further into Personal Effects and it’s funny and emotional and heartfelt and there’s a bit of an unravelling of personality and secrets and I love it. I think you’ll dig it.

OH NO, distinct lack of romance? That makes me a sad April. That said I am still looking forward to it.

Re: Prophecy, I am not sure if you are coming back to read my reply, but I can send you my copy when I am done that is not a problem at all.

Ha ha, story of my life. I have a pile of books that I’ve been meaning to read but I have no clue when I’ll get to them.

Oh man, I hope Madman’s Daughter will be totally brilliant.

I am so so glad Asunder is fantastic, I’ve been looking forward to it since reading Incarnate.

      Thank you 🙂

  10. Oh your accent! So cute. Also I cannot make resolutions. Or lists. So I commend you. You may have seen me say before that making a list is a sure-fire way of ensuring that I WILL NOT keep it.

-OH OH OH I read in the mornings too!
-Personal Effects sounds fantastic. Nick Podehl, yay. I ALWAYS mark my place in my print copy as I read via audio because you know I always always read audio + print and never ever without. This is on my to-read as of this second. Like, I am opening another browser window while you are vlogging and I am adding this concurrent to your video speaking. Thank you!
-Hell yes, audiobooks. HAHA, I was just checking my Frankenstein audio cover as you showed yours on the screen. Great minds.
-Falling For You is my #1 to-read WANT right now. Seriously. I’m dying for it. I’m excited to see your thoughts.
-Revolution 19-I’ve just read that one. I anxious to know what you think. Yeah.
-Wings of Fire: my sweet Greta has this requested at the library. She loves dragon books so much. My girls are so freakin awesome. They’re fourth graders too.
-YOU NEED TO READ LOVELY, DARK AND DEEP ASAP!!!!! THROW IT IN THE PILE FOR THIS MONTH TOO. It’s quick and so great. And setting setting setting.

  11. Great choices! I love Lauren Oliver and need to read The Spindlers … I’ve read all of her other books and have loved them ALL! And I really need to start the Veronica Rossi series … I’ve heard it’s AMAZING!

Good luck with your reading this month!

  12. LOL I’m in love with this video. You’re so funny! 🙂

  13. I’m really curious to see your thoughts on The Prophecy because that is the one I’m on the fence about reading. The synopsis is kick-ass, but SO MANY people have not liked it at all. If you end up enjoying it, I’ll probably end up reading it.

  14. Loved getting to put a face/voice to your name, April! Great vlog – I wish more bloggers did them 🙂

You’ve sold me on Personal Effects – esp. the audio book (I might see if it’s avail. on audible)

I’m glad you liked Touch of Power – I’ve had a copy for so long but put off reading it because I wasn’t sure I would like it, but now I have the sequel so I gotta read it, asap

Falling for You sounds SO good, I hope it’s a great read

And I love how excited you are about the dragon-shaped map!

  15. 1) I LIKED SCENT OF MAGIC! Did people not?!?! 2) I totally enjoyed Altered — you’ll speed through it! 3) xo

    • I know a few people who really disliked it. So, lol I am going in with low standards and an open mind.

Yay Altered! I can’t wait to speed through it and knock it out of my house and off my list.

      <333333

  16. Hi, I love your vlogs.
    The End.

  17. Dear April,

Please continue to vlog foreverrrr. I’m listening to you while I catch up on your blog posts and commenting. It’s like listening to an audiobook. But better. Don’t stop pretty pleaseeee!

    Love,
    Hannah
