The End Games by T. Michael Martin: WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

Friends, I have not done a WAITING ON WEDNESDAY in years. FOR REALS. Since February 2010. However, because I am a TOTAL lemming and most of my book blogger friends participate in WoW, I thought, hey maybe I should try that out again and see how it goes and how my readers respond. You guys do like hearing about new, upcoming books right?

This week’s Waiting On Wednesday Pick? THE END GAMES by T. Michael Martin

The cover of THE END GAMES by T. Michael Martin:

The End Games T Michael Martin Book Cover

Release date: 5/7/2013

The summary DIRECT from the catalog:

“John Green meets Stephen King in this original take on the zombie apocalypse, about a teen boy protecting his fragile younger brother from the horrors around them. With great plot twists, nonstop action, and profound commentary on environmental devastation, human nature, and identity, this is a striking debut novel by a promising young author.

Seventeen-year-old Michael and his five-year-old brother, Patrick, have been battling monsters in The Game for weeks.

In the rural mountains of West Virginia—armed with only their rifles and their love for each other—the brothers follow Instructions from the mysterious Game Master. They spend their days searching for survivors, their nights fighting endless hordes of “Bellows”—creatures that roam the dark, roaring for flesh. And at this Game, Michael and Patrick are very good.

But The Game is changing.

The Bellows are evolving.

The Game Master is leading Michael and Patrick to other survivors—survivors who don’t play by the rules.

And the brothers will never be the same.

T. Michael Martin’s debut novel is a transcendent thriller filled with electrifying action, searing emotional insight, and unexpected romance.”

Why am I desperate for THE END GAMES by T. Michael Martin?

For real you guys? FOR REAL? YOU NEED TO ASK THAT? Okay okay okay, I feel you player. I am pumped up over The End Games because number one on the list it is described as John Green meets Stephen King only TWO of my most fangirled AUTHORS EVER OMG OMG OMG. Like, if I were to be in the same room as them, I would be a heart attack hot mess. SECOND, RIFLES and West Virginia (which is gorgeous BTW) and brotherly love and survival? THOSE ARE APRIL-LOVE elements! Dudes, I cannot wait to read the shiz out of this book. AND THIRD, the Bellows sound like zombies which means I can share this with Mr. BooksAndWine and he won’t complain. Fourth, I am making jazz hands in my chair over that cover. It’s kind evocative to me of the covers for Patrick Ness’s Chaos Walking series and in my brain, that’s a wonderful association to make.
