SEVERED HEADS BROKEN HEARTS by Robyn Schneider COVER REVEAL

First, I am awed by how much talent there is among YA readers. It was an incredibly hard choice to pick a cover for the Severed Heads, Broken Hearts Cover Reveal contest.

First, to reiterate here is the jacket flap copy:

Golden boy Ezra Faulkner believes everyone has a tragedy waiting for them—a single encounter after which everything that really matters will happen. His particular tragedy waited until he was primed to lose it all: in one spectacular night, a reckless driver shatters Ezra’s knee, his athletic career, and his social life.

No longer a front-runner for Homecoming King, Ezra finds himself at the table of misfits, where he encounters new girl Cassidy Thorpe. Cassidy is unlike anyone Ezra’s ever met, achingly effortless, fiercely intelligent, and determined to bring Ezra along on her endless adventures.

But as Ezra dives into his new studies, new friendships, and new love, he learns that some people, like books, are easy to misread. And now he must consider: if one’s singular tragedy has already hit and everything after it has mattered quite a bit, what happens when more misfortune strikes?

Robyn Schneider’s Severed Heads, Broken Hearts is a lyrical, witty, and heart-wrenching novel about how difficult it is to play the part that people expect, and how new beginnings can stem from abrupt and tragic endings.

Here’s my favorite cover:

I love the typography, I love that title takes center stage, I love the tag line and I love the people holding hands at the bottom. This looks like a book I’d grab off the shelves.

NOW for the real, actual PUBLISHER cover whooooo-hoo, add this to your wish list RIGHT THIS SECOND:

  1. I love this cover too! It was on my list of final picks. And I love the tagline chosen. This artist did a great job with all four of their submissions IMO.

  2. My iPad only loaded the top half of the cover so it looked like a girl finding a boy who had hung himself on the cover! I clicked to find out more because it seemed pretty controversial!

I’m glad I did, because it sounds great.

  3. HNNNNNG MINIMALIST COVER OH SWEET OZ I NEED IT
